Not taking calc?

to add, do most medical schools accept credit for AP calculus? I'm not taking Calc I and II because I have credit however I am taking Differential Equations and currently do NOT plan on taking another math course in college (if I do it would be Multivariable calculus)

They take AP credit, also take stats to make life easier.
OP take calc 1 + stat.

Maybe it's because i'm an engineer, but I wouldn't be able to take myself seriously if I didn't know what an integral was.

As long as you take a year of math, whether it is Calc II and III if you have AP credit, I think you'll be fine. As they say, you want to make sure you bring a raincoat on the train, even though it's sunny. You never know what mother nature will do.

Many med schools just have a requirement that says you need to a take a year of "math". They don't ever say what "math" is, and the ones who do go into detail say that algebra and trig is sufficient. That said, there are also a lot of schools that want to see stats on your transcript (and honestly you really should take it if you haven't, you're going to be clueless reading primary literature without it), and there are a fair number of schools that at least "recommend" calc I, although calc II is much more rare. Then you have the few schools that actually require calculus I and either calc 2 or stats or both.

If you know what schools you want to apply to you should look up their requirements and see if they want calc or not. Either way calculus honestly isn't that hard. I found it to be even easier than algebra. Derivatives and integrals (to an extent) are things that can be done in your head.

I had AP credit for calc I and II and took a semester of stats.

I think only a couple schools wouldn't accept that. I do believe some sort of calc (even just AP) is required, though I may be wrong on that.

If it's not required, I know that a number of schools do require it. I would just take it to make your life a bit easier.

Thank you everyone for your input!

What do you think about taking it during the summer?
