How much does waiving vs. not waiving a LOR matter ?
Do programs actually pay attention to this ?
I know letter writers don't care, most of the time they don't even see the waiver form, it's their assistant who has all the paperwork.
It matters. At the very least, the norm is to waive your right to see the LOR - do you want to be the lone applicant who didn't? And it raises all sorts of unpleasant questions and suspicions.
