hey everyone, I'm just curious as to how notes/info is presented in optometry school? I guess this question would apply more to people who have attended or are currently attending NOVA since that's where I'll be going. Most of my classes in undergrad are powerpoints and I'd usually just print out the handouts and write notes on the side? Is this how it is usually or do people bring laptops and take notes..or notebooks?? any help would be appreciated...thanks

I don't attend NOVA, but at my school (NECO) it's mostly powerpoints, some classes are just written out notes and some have both where the notes and the powerpoints correlate with each other. They give us the notes or powerpoints already printed, so it's really convenient. A few things aren't printed but are available online to be printed. For Optics, it's more taking your own notes since it's a math based class, but for the rest what I said applies. No one in my class brings a laptop.

Most lectures at NOVA are presented with PowerPoint but you'll only get the slides in about half of the classes. All classes have some kind of distributed notes though, some are worthless and some are everything you need to know for the test. Probably only worth taking actual notes in a few of the classes. People who bring laptops to class don't take notes, they just surf the web.

oh ok, that's pretty much how it is at UF too
