Note to All Pre-Veterinary Students

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Ugh her...she's just so brazen and calls BS on students ACTUAL experiences. Some of us have been on the rodeo multiple times and know from experience...

I was curious about past things she’s said (haven’t been on the page long) and I honestly have a hard time reading some of her posts because they make no sense. Idk if it’s the fact that she doesn’t use the right words/has terrible spelling, but it also seems like she just makes it all up.
I’m shocked she’s an actual advisor at an actual school that students actually go to and listen to.

Okay I have been wondering which lady everyone was talking about and I had a feeling it was this lady! I thought she was applying to vet school because some posts from a while back made it seem like she was
I think she purposely phrases some of her questions as though she's asking for herself, maybe to get more responses. 🙄

If it's who I think it is ( which I'm pretty sure) but I can't believe how much she slandered the only school her kid applied to and now is idk super cynical about the whole process? I mean yeah it's somewhat of a dartboard, but some of her advice/questions I'm just like what? 😵

My only real interaction with her was when I posted my pet as a case study on the APVMA (with a full disclosure at the bottom of him being my pet; therefore me having owner permission to post). I shortly received a PM from her regarding the instance :angelic:
I was a bit frustrated (irrritated? ) over the interaction. Probably because I've seen other posts among the FB page.

My personal favorite so far is when she was telling people that a DVM/PhD program takes 5 years, and I was like ummmm no more like 7-8, and she told me that you could skip your clinical year if you were doing both degrees.

The fastest PhD/DVM I have heard of here is 7 years and one is in clinics now and the other just rejoined the DVM this year.

Not to mention a normal PhD is typically 4-5 years alone.

When I was a tech, this guy was bringing his dog in because it has Cushing’s Disease. In the appointment notes in Avimark the receptionist wrote: “O presents P for cushions”.
We had a dog coming in for follow-up rads after pneumonia, and the receptionist put on the appointment “rads for amnonia”

I find typos from our staff in the notes on Chameleon all of the time and they always crack me up.

My favorite common one is when there's a veterinary exam request because the dog has "the mange"

Now I know who you're talking about, she still has the same profile pic from when I was actually in that group still, lol. I remember her saying stuff years ago on some posts I commented on and she would constantly try to be like "actually it's this" even though she was very clearly wrong. It says she's no longer a member now though? IIRC, she would never bring up what school she worked for. I actually am from her neck of the woods (like, the next town over actually) and when I was curious, I couldn't find her on any of the local schools' websites so I found that odd.

@batsenecal and I have been complaining about the lack of oversight on that page for years. I've actually talked to past APVMA people about it (there was that prevet guy who said women didn't realize they could get a better paying career outside of vet med, yet he was also going into vet med) since there are things that have gone down that should be admin'd just like we do here on SDN. People have come on asking for veterinary advice, and pre-vets have jumped all over it offering medical advice/diagnoses. Etc etc.

Also, just looked back on that whole convo with that guy and 1) Still, wow 2) glad he chose not to attend U of I

She might not have ever been a member but just went there to comment

[USER=582266]

Again for those in the back, you CANNOT legally diagnose unless you have that DVM degree. Drives me crazy on the APVMA page...

When i looked she wasn’t a member. I was going to ask admin to remove her due to previous inappropriate comments.
