I've had soooooo much trouble with hanging onto discussions about WXGA WUXGA...GLOSSY NO GLOSS>.....what the helll is the difference?

Having worked in IT for a number of years, I think this is an excellent guide.

Bottom line for most users, if you are into video/multimedia and can afford it, you want a 15.4/Glossy/1280X800/16:10 Or 17/Glossy/1920X1200/16:10 screen. If you want a cheap system, go for 15/Matte/1024X768/4:3. If you want anything else, chances are you already know what you are looking for.

I went glossy widescreen, and never looked back. The line about glossy and potential eyestrain is true, I actually had to start wearing my glasses when I used my computer because my eyestrain was so severe, so be aware of that, but I think it was worth it for the increased brightness/contrast/clarity and viewing angle.

Nah, I should be wearing my glasses regardless, but the glossy made it necessary. I think the glossy must be harder to view if you have an existing myopia.
