2. OU will be downgrading from a level I trauma center, due to the lack of neurosurgery. All trauma levels will be downgrading. However, EM residents in OKC use OU's medical center for trauma call. Once again, there are no EM residents in the state that aren't DO's. OSU also matches into some of the most competitive EM residencies, such as Parkland.
3. I'm not going into surgery, so irrelevant to me.
4. Once again, I only care about the EM matchlist, however, we have residents at Johns Hopkins, UT-Southwestern, and we have several orthopedics and a plastic surgery.
1. OK. Fair enough.
2. Hard to rip on a school, when your beloved programs use its resources. Of course, what does that say when/if OUHSC loses its Level One Status? What of the OKC programs then? What about the trauma at TRMC?
3. You said OSU grads match into "almost all" of OU's programs. I illustrate that this isn't the case, so you don't care.
4. The Hopkins match is for a community hospital affiliated w/Hopkins (and it's IM). Yeah, Kite's a stud....I'll give him that. He'd have probably matched wherever regardless of where he'd gone to school. (btw, Parkland is UTSW, so you used that one twice....)
Again, I'm not saying OSU sucks, but it ain't quite the Mecca so many Cowgirls play it up to be. And, before you invoke the holy Goljan, I'd just like to point out that if ORU still had a med school, OSU wouldn't have Goljan....
