I just got a notice of foreclosure on my property in maryland.. I now live in texas doing my residency.. left my house and tried to short sale it since getting matched.. now, that i have a notice of foreclosure, what's the chance that i can still get into the military thru the FAP? 🙁

That sounds like a difficult situation. Bad debts can be a red flag on your security clearance application. At the same time, there must be a lot of service members with similar problems these days. Not sure...

Apply. You may get interviewed as a part of security clearance process and you need to explain your financial situation.😎

Just explain (on your Security Application) what happened, in good detail. Be honest . . . and (provided this has happened only once, and you have no other blemishes) you should be fine, in my opinion. Don't let it deter you from trying.

Yeah, I have to agree. The clearance people are worried about dishonesty and secrets. It seems a foreclosure in this era is akin to a couple speeding tickets 10 years ago.

Thanks guys! Submitted the standard form 86.. we'll see what happens..
