Nov 1 deadline, defined?

I am a late applicant. When programs state that the application deadline is Nov 1, does that mean that they won't take applications later than midnight on the 31st or that they won't accept applications after midnight on Nov 1 (technically speaking)?

I'm pretty sure that it means you need to complete ERAS by Nov. 1 and listed all the programs you want to apply to by then. Programs continue to download stuff off of ERAS (Dean's letters, SLOR's) well past Nov. 1.

Are you really so down to the wire that one extra day is going to mean that much? Just get it done. It's not like you have to fill out a bunch of secondaries; you could finish the whole thing in a few hours tops if you wanted to.
