Hi guys,

I am currently looking into applying to nova southeastern as my #1 dental school. I am wondering if in any of you that were just accepted there share some of your stats (GPA, DAT, extra curriculars) with me.

I am kinda paranoid that I might not get in. I currently am a sophmore with a 3.6 overall GPA and a meager 3.1 science GPA. Any advice of what I could do to improve my chnces would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Your numbers are fine. The numbers of my class (2002 entering class) were 3.4 cumulative GPA, 3.4 science GPA, and 18s for DAT. Keep up your GPA and do well on the DAT (Nova is a DAT school, like to see high DAT numbers), and start to spend some time in a dental office.

As far as I know, for the 2003 entering class application cycle, applicants with high GPA were denied and applicants with so-so GPA were accepted. Overall, this year's entering class will have higher admissions statistics than the 2002 entering class. As you can see, admissions is a funny thing, you can never pinpoint exactly what they look for, but one thing for sure, Nova is now getting very competitive and selective on who they accept (as they should)!

Keep up the good work.
