Nova Davie/Palm Beach

Hey guys its good to see that you guys are getting acceptance letters...im so jealous...I think I made a mistake by checking off west palm as one of my campus options. The only reason I did that was because I finished my pharmcas Mid December and my supp in late Jan and crystal told me that they have over 3K apps that’s like twice last years # of apps. Well anyways I guess I should still be happy that at least I got an interview for the Palm Beach campus. Many of my friends that go to the local Broward Community College have not received an interview letter. It sucks because Palm Beach campus is like 75 miles from where I live. Im going to have to move on my own in Palm Beach and pay RENT + Living expenses!!! On top of Nova's 18K+ Tuition. Well like I said...I should be thankful...Im just curious.. Is n e 1 else going to the Palm Beach campus??? DO you think it’s possible to transfer to the Davie campus after you get accepted? And once you’re sent an interview invitation from one of the campuses are you then taken out of the applicant pool for another campus?

HeY! I am going to west palm campus...dont worry u will get to pick whatever campus u want to if u get accepted as long as its not filled up...last time i checked they werent filled up at davie campus...

You are pretty damn lucky that you even got an interview at Nova coming from Beer Can College. If you read the directions you have been given, it even states that it doesn't matter where your interview is you can pick the campus you want to attend. (if there is enough space)

btw- Nova doesn't really care for students from the Beer Can because they are typically not very good students regardless of their stellar stats.

You are pretty damn lucky that you even got an interview at Nova coming from Beer Can College. If you read the directions you have been given, it even states that it doesn't matter where your interview is you can pick the campus you want to attend. (if there is enough space)

You are? Cool cool. I guess you are right. I know a few people in my classes that have applied and have not even interviewed. Wow.. I must be real good 😀 Or they just really suck?

So, what school in GA do you go to?

Welcome to the real world. At some point you have to grow up and move out and get your own place. My suggestion is to try and find someone in the same boat who's moving up there for school. I personally was happy when I moved out in undergrad. It was a time to grow up and figure things out on my own. I moved back for the year before I started pharmacy school and I can tell you that I couldn't move out fast enough. Not b/c I don't get along with my mom but more because I was ready to be independent again. Everyone's different but I think it's important to live on your own if you're in professional school if you can.

Hey cavertject....I understand what your saying about BCC. It’s not the greatest school but they do have some good professors for their science courses. You can get classes that are easy A's but it depends on the individual. Even though sometimes I had easy professors I made sure that I studied and learned because I knew it was vital in order for me to be successful in Pharm School. By the way I am not bitching. Like I said many times that I am thankful that I got an interview. The letter I received said “Congratulations you have been selected to be interviewed as a candidate for the Palm Beach pharmacy program". The letter as you can see was specific ( for you guys who said I can pick any campus after getting accepted) The only reason I was a little disheartened was because Pharm School is 18k and then living expenses add up. I don’t come from a rich family (my parents will not be helping) and having to pay all those loans back would take some time. It would just be easier on me financially if I went to the Davie campus. I would save 30-40K (over 4 years). I repeat again that I am thankful and happy that at least I have been considered as a candidate. Thank you for all your replies!!

Ah yes, good ole BCC...aka "the 13th grade." I dont know what nova is looking for exactly b/c my wife took most of her prereqs at BCC (but took Orgo 1&2 at Nova) got a's and they were almost tripping over themselves to accept her. Me, on the other hand, they wont even pi$$ on me if I was on fire and I asked them to, (sorry im ranting I know) I took most of my pre reqs at Nova thinking they might look more favorably at a B+ there than an A from a CC....but I guess I was wrong, Oh well, live and learn. heres to Mercer 😀

Believe it or not, Nova HPD rates their undergrad sciences in the same league as BCC/MDCC/PBCC. In other words, the program sucks. They view an FAU, FIU, UM, UF etc student much more favorably

for those that have been accepted im just curious as to what your Q/A were for your interview... I know the questions are in the interview feedback...but what were some of your answers and what did you find to be the best way to prep for your interview ???...thanks in advance and congrats again for those that have been accepted 👍 and for the others who are still waiting good luck 🙂 !!! After im done with my interview i'll post a summary of it.

Harsh in what way??? If you mean the comment about BCC being "the 13th grade"? well thats just b/c alot of my students (I teach @ a HS 10 mins away from BCC) who didnt even care about school somehow end up there 😕
and theyre quick to tell you they'll end up there to!
