I just read on the Loan Quiz that all stafford loans cannot exceed 8.25%. Is this true even if issued after July 1? Thank you.

You are right. It was the actual acceptance letter. My status still say not full accepted when I try to log in. Mabye they have not updated their system yet. And what is with sending all the transcripts from all the previous schools. I thought whatever Pharmcas sent them was enough.alvarce85 said:Hey congrats myliham !! Last time you got your high hold letter before me too. Even though im in state. Well..I guess I'll just have to wait. congrats again !!

calrx said:Don't panic... you have a while to send them! Crystal told me that because I'm taking one of the pre-reqs over the summer at a CC to just wait and forward my final transcript after the class is over in June. If you are all done with classes, I would recommend that you go ahead and get everything in though!
calrx said:Miss Sushi: Thanks for posting that information. It really helped clear things up! You rock! haha.😀
🙂alvarce85 said:I feel like an idiot..lol...I should of sent them long time ago. Im going to send them later today. Do we send a copy to Nova as well as pharmcas ??

Hello, I go to Nova and will be a P3 this Fall. Anyway, you will be offered the entire 31,000.00 in loans. If I remember correctly the school did not change our status to fully admitted student until orientation week. Also after the first semester of school you usually get your money 1 week before classes start. I can not remember when I got my money the first semester , I will check webstar and let you know. If you have any questions feel free to ask. At first it seems to be a frustrating experience with Nova and Financial aid but I can promise you after the first semester everything gets better. lol Oh and do sign up for direct deposit it is soooo much easier. 😉

Does NOVA only need a final transcript form your last school or what? In my letter, I was asked to mail final transcripts from all the schools I attended. Can someone clarify this for me.Miss Sushi said:Yes, you do need to send a copy of your final transcript to Nova. I'm not sure if you need to send it to PharmCAS though. 😕

I have yet to receive my official acceptance package after I received the letter to chose which campus I would like to accept and reserve a spot for....I go on webstar everyday and run home checking my mail after work...anyways ..this sucks ..well hopefully I'll hear from them by the end of the week.
Myliham Hey I was wondering what does it say in your account summary ? Mine still just has the $50 application fees on there.. 😕 😕
JordanP said:My account summary also has the $50 on for now. But my status does say Admitted to the Program. I guess it takes time.
Good Luck.
Miss Sushi said:Newsflash from financial aid counselor:
"Your loans will be processed with the new interest rate of 6.8% because they will be for the academic year 2006-2007. You will receive your Award Notice sometime in July. Your fall disbursement will be just before the beginning of your fall classes in August."
Let me know if any of you hear anything too! 😉
PMart said:Hello Ms Sushi and everyone else,
I know you all must be getting excited, orientation will be before you know it !!!
Nova does not charge for hep B shots as long as you go when they tell you to, now if you do not go during the time they have allotted, they do charge you.
It is sort of a pain because they will give a certain time frame for many people to get their shots, I would always make sure to show up early and be one of the first people at the clinic so I did not waste an entire day there.

What if you do not have 90 credits?OK I wrote an e-mail to the Student Financial Services Counselor and here is what she responded with:
"Once you are fully admitted and registered you will receive an Award Notice via your NSU email account. Your Award Notice will delineate how much money you have been awarded for the year. We award financial aid for the year (9 months for pharmacy students) and disburse the funds per term. Once before the fall term and once before the beginning if the winter term. After you receive your Award Notice you will need to go back online (you will receive a separate email) and choose a lender and sign a Master Promissory Note. You will need to choose your lender each year although if you stay with the same lender you not need to sign another Master Promissory Note for 10 years. If you are beginning with 90 credits or higher you will be beginning the program as a graduate student. You will be eligible for Stafford subsidized and unsubsidized loans. The maximum amount of Stafford Loans that you can receive as a pharmacy student for a 9 month period is $31,000. This breaks down to $8,500 in subsidized (which is a need-dependent loan) and $22,500 for unsubsidized. You will receive half of each of these amounts for fall and winter. Your funds will come into the university and post to your account. The university will take out all of your tuition and fees and refund the remaining back to you. The Bursars office will post your refund in 5 to 10 days of your funds arriving at the university. Your Direct Deposit takes two days to go to your bank from the date that your refund is posted.
Fall disbursements for 2006-2007 arrive in the university on August 7. So, if these dates remain the same (sometimes they change as it gets closer to the beginning of the term) your refund will be issued 5 to 10 days after August 7.
If you need funds that exceed your Stafford Loan amount then you will need to apply for a private/alternative loan. You can do this through our NSU financial aid website, www.nova.edu/cwis/finaid. If you are an in state graduate pharmacy student your budget is $38,930 for the fall and winter 2006-2007 academic year.
Please let me know how I can be of further assistance."
So I'm not sure how you can find out your award after completing the authorization form & loan entrance interview... I had those completed ages ago anyway and it didn't seem to make a difference. 😕
PS: The NSUCOP website has posted the classes we will be taking in the fall with their CRN numbers. Just a heads up.
