I am accepted to NOVA and paid $1000 deposit but still not received any mail about immunization process. When I went to another dental school interview, they gave me a piece of paper explaining the immunization process. They said that I need to start immunization process NOW becasue it takes about 5months to complete all immunization requirements. ( For example, they said that it takes 5 months to complete immunization for Hepatitis B).

Every dental school requires the same immunization requirement????
If so....Even though I still have not received a mail about immunization process from NOVA, should I start immunization now?

I have. However, it depends on your immunization records. I was missing a booster shot (every 10 yrs). Also, I was missing the last dose of Hep B. 3 dose is required. But if you don't know, they can do a titer to see if you have the antibodies. In summary, check your immunization records first. If you have everything, I wouldn't worry about it.

Did you receive a mail about immunization process from NOVA? When did you receive it? I paid my $1000 deposit using credit card on 12/10

Here is the link to the immunization and physical exam forms that you will need to provide to admissions

They will stress getting all of that completed ASAP so that you can assist in clinic your first semester. I'd say only 2/3 of our class had everything in on day 1, and there were still a few stragglers towards the end of the semester who hadn't gotten everything done, so they just weren't allowed to assist in their clinical rotation. Hope this helps!

Thank you so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
