my status just changed to "invited for interview" today! I didn't receive anything in the mail yet or via e-mail from them, but hopefully I will soon..so excited! 🙂

I personally didn't, I had two chem professors, a dentist and my advisor. I have a friend who was excepted there last year who called and they said they were pretty easy going about having that letter.
 
for the people who got invited: when did you send in your aadsas? i sent mine in around the last week in june, and I took my DAT on july 23rd (21,19,21). i did the supplemental app for nova on july 29th. i have a feeling this may be later than you all. i would love to go to nova, the dentist i shadowed went there and he makes is sound so good lol

I got an interview from Sept 23rd. My app was sent out 7/10 and AADSAS changed to invited for interview on 8/3/09 so it got here pretty fast. Anyone else on the 23rd? I'm driving down so I'll have a car if someone wants to save money on taxi or renting a car.
 
Hey does anyone know if we are supposed to receive a confirmation email from NOVA confirming our interview date? I called last week and talked to someone on the phone and they said they confirmed it but should we have gotten an email?

I'm worried about this too. I had to leave a message because when I called no one picked up.
 
status on aadsas just changed to 'invited for interview' woot woot!

about how long did it take for your interview packets to arrive after your aadsas changed?
 
My interview date is September 23rd as well!
 
hey i got my interview, left a message but no one called me back or gave me a confirmation e-mail. i called almost two weeks ago.

my status changed from "under review" to "invited for interview" on 8/3, but i still haven't received the packet. anyone else from cali interviewing at nova? how long did it take for your packet to arrive?
 
quick question:

When you receive the mail from Nova, how do they offer the interview dates? Do they give you a week and you pick the day you want to come?

Is anybody missing a lot of days of school for interviews?
I miss high school - miss a day, its okay... miss a day in college and it seems like you are SO behind!
 
hey guys, i was mailed out 7/31 and turned in my signed form last week. my LORs havent been sent out yet, but on AADSAS, I am under received/under review for NOVA.

if i send out my LORs to AADSAS end of this week, how long should I anticipate until my status changes? can i be reviewed w/o my LORs in yet?
 
Interview on October 1st. Anybody else on that day? =D
 
It's done!!
I just booked my flight and hotel today!
I'll be staying at [SIZE=-1]Comfort Suites Ft. Lauderdale Airport-West (http://www.comfortsuites.com/hotel-davie-florida-FL591). The price including Nova's discount is 82$/night. Kind of pricey, but I think it's worth it because:

[/SIZE][SIZE=-1]-Judging by the photos and the reviews I read about the place, it's a decent place.[/SIZE]
[SIZE=-1]-They are only 5 minutes away from the school.
-They provide complimentary shuttle service to NOVA + complimentary breakfast.
-Shuttle service from/to the airport.
-Free internet.

I found couple of cheaper places in the area, but after reading the reviews (Dirty carpet, broken AC, etc.) I decided to skip them.

I'll be staying there from Sep 22nd to 24th. If anyone else is going to be in the area, let me know, so we can meet up and check out the area before the interview.

October 8th interview at NOVA....anyone else? Its wierd how these dates are so random.
 
Have you guys had any luck trying to contact someone from Nova? I've been calling for the past week, left a voicemail, sent an email and no one responds.

I called tuesday at like 9:30 am. They picked up the second time i called....but if you've left a voice mail they are supposed to email you confirming.
 
My interview is Sept. 24. anyone else that day? 🙂

i called yesterday (aug. 12) at about 2PM (est) and the lady answered!

Yea I called and asked for dental admissions. I then get transferred to a line where no one picks up and it goes to voicemail.
 
did u call 954-262-1839? that number should go directly to the admissions office

i called and someone picked up. just call in the morning or leave a message in what the letter states to do
 
If you called once to confirm the interview and you left the message, you should call them again some other day just to check if they confirmed you appointment. That's what I did. But I would recommend leaving only one message 🙂
 
I have interview on October 9th. I am planning to be there from 10/8-10-10. Anyone there during that time?
 
dont worry people, the voicemail is enough, i called them twice and left messages.. and a lady from Nova called me and told me they've booked me down...

I don't think Nova requires the LORs for an interview. I haven't been able to send my LORs out yet since my school's pre-health committee is taking so long to finish my committee letter. My AADSAS app. was mailed out 7/24, and 8/5 my status for Nova changed to "invited for interview". So yours should change relatively soon since your app was only mailed out a week after mine.

Seems like a lot of you are concerned about this. They don't send a confirmation e-mail once you've spoken to admissions. I would make sure to speak to someone to confirm the interview after receiving the interview. Don't rely on just leaving a message...speak to someone. Good Luck.
 
Just got mine in the mail. October 22.

Does anyone know if this is set in stone? Can I call and schedule it for a different day?
 
My interview is in early December. I e-submited my application on june 1st, took my DAT in early July and sent my secondary application in mid-July. what does it really mean when they notify me this early for a late (interview)? are my chances less or it doesn't matter?😕 I don't understand base on what they give interviews? I am so cofused...

it's pretty much set in stone. I asked if I could switch it if needed and she said that would be really hard and maybe even post dec.

for the people worrying about spots being filled up to post dec...this may be their system: they rank the applicants when they first review their application (say, score of 1-100). From their calculation, they know that they can only interview the 70s-100s (bear with me on the numbers, I am saying 70s not because it is a selective number but i would think most over achieving predents fall into a high category). They might have a higher quota to offer invites for the early applicants (say, those that scored 70-100). And they have given interviews based on their rank. 100s in the beginning and 70s later on.
As more applications come in, they continue to offer invites (ofcourse on a smaller basis) but the ones that score high (based on gpa, dat, p.s, secondary, etc) WILL get one.

thats just my thinking. it doesnt make sense to compleeeetely fill up their spots just based on june-july submitters.
alright time to go do something productive.
 
Just curious how long it takes for Nova to show up on the AADSAS "School Decisions" section. I turned in my secondary a few weeks ago but Nova isn't even listed in the status section on AADSAS. It sounds like most people have "Received/Under Review" listed for Nova and eventually switch to "Invited to Interview." Should I be concerned that Nova is not listed at all on AADSAS?

From what i understand AADSAS really lags with the updates so i wouldnt be too concerned. Some people got interviews But their AADSAS was never updated to "invited to interview".
MiamiHurricanes...I look forward to meeting you at the interview. Supposed to be such a layed back process that it should go smoothly.
 
so I got my first interview on October 29th. Just curious....how many interviews do they give out? I know this forum is not representative of the entire aadsas applicant pool, but it seems like theres a lot of interviews so far.

Any ideas?
