I spoke with admissions a few times and understand how hectic it must be but no response, no call backs and everytime I call I get a voice mail. I had a few questions and was hoping maybe you guys can help me out.

1. I currently have 18 credits and will be starting a CC August 18th. My question to you is will Nova accept my 18 credits from 12-14 years ago?

2. Do they offer grade replacement meaning taking the highest grade from a repeat class to calculate my GPA? Does Nova offer the academic forgiveness policy meaning the classes I did poorly on can I retake them at Broward all together?

3. As per the pre requisites, it states 6 credits of English are required. I already took ENC 1101 and have an option to take either 1102 or 2210. Will they accept 2210 which is Professional Technical writing as my 2nd English credit instead of 1102?

I would apply to other schools but have family responosbilities and since Nova is the only one in South Florida its my only option. Can anyone help me?

I, too, want to know the answer about their retaken courses policy.

I sent an email a looooooonnnnggggggg time ago to Tracy Templin explaining that I have a few questions to ask, and I asked if email was the best route of communication or if I should call. She promptly emailed me back and said email would be best. So, I fired off my email and she never replied. So about a month after that I emailed her again and to this day, I have never heard back from her.

One thing's for sure about NOVA from what I have read here on SDN and my own personal expierence: their communication with prospective students stink

I may email the dean and see if that works.

I am pretty sure that Nova uses the GPA calculated by pharmcas, which averages all grades ever taken. Nova does not recalculate your GPA to only include your highest grades for their prereqs. However, as long as you meet their minimum GPA and your most recent grades show improvement from 12-13 years ago, I doubt they would weigh those older grades against you too much. I am not aware of any expiration date on courses, maybe someone else on this site knows of such information. Sometimes it is difficult to reach Nova by phone or email, try stopping by to ask some questions in person. Ususally Nova does not waive prereq courses, I had taken tech com as part of my engineering degree and still had to take english comp 101 and 102 (post-bac) for prereqs. But, I would get clarification on this for yourself.

So if my GPA at FIU when I was 18 was a 1.7 that means even if I get a 4.0 at Broward I still won't have a shot in hell at getting accepted at Nova bc if they average a 1.7 and a 4.0 I will have a 2.8 🙁 and that will be no where close to competetive so does that mean I should kiss my pharmacy dream goodbye or is there some hope? Please someone shed some light I am having the worst year of my life. Car repoed, house foreclosed, had my third hip surgery, and I'm so broke I can't afford to pay attention.

Shoot for 90+ on the PCAT and they will take a look at you for sure!

has anyone heard from NOVA yet to summit their supplemental ??? i can't stand the wait. aghhhh
