For those who interviewed at NOVA, how long did it take for them to offer an interview? My OptomCas was verified a couple weeks ago and I turned in my secondary two days ago. They've received all my information. I have two interview offers for Jan and if I got into to NOVA, I wouldn't bother going! I appreciate any input. Thanks!

Make sure you send your transcript directly to nova. I didnt realize that until about a month after I did my secondary. I think they also require a signature page or something. Go to the Webstar app page to check and see where blank spaces as on the app. They won't look at it until its totally finished. After I was totally done I think it took about a week to get my interview invite. This was in mid September and I interviewed about 10 days later. Heard back on the tuesday after I interviewed (a Wednesday) that I had gotten in.

Thank you so much for that advice. I looked online and I guess they DO need my transcript... so I just sent an official one from my school. I actually asked someone from NOVA admissions if I needed to do that and they said not until AFTER the interview. I guess they did not know what they were talking about! Hopefully they look at my application soon! It is my top choice since I already live in Florida and it is about 3 hours away from my parents.

Yeah I was told some things by the admissions office that were completely untrue. Don't let them tell you false info. My app was held for almost a month because of that. After it got in, I got n invite in 4 days.

Hi, where is the signed page that needs to be handed in? Also, thanks for informing about the transcript, I keep getting emails saying all my information has been received but I never submitted my transcript directly.

How do you check if you are still missing items? All of the check marks showed up next to the stuff on the online supplemental, and I paid the fee. I will be sending in all of my transcripts, but just wanted to monitor the status of it.

I interviewed at NOVA and the transcript is sent AFTER you get accepted to show that you passed all your classes. you just send your transcript to OptomCAS.

It will say received and the date. And to the above poster, I'm post-bacc so I had to send my transcripts to them beforehand. I just finished my last prereq so I'll send the final transcript once it is posted but for me they wouldn't consider my app complete without a transcript sent directly. I don't know everyone's situation but for me, it held me up. Most schools send copies free of charge, so it can't hurt you.

Thanks for all your help. I didn't find a sheet to sign, but I did get a call from the admissions counselor today who wanted to talk about my application status. It was a voice mail since I was working...and I hope they were just calling to tell me they need my transcripts and not that they hate me! lol The transcripts got mailed today and they wouldn't know I sent them already.

Do you have any advice for the interview? I would appreciate it!🙂

Absolutely! We may end up being classmates!! My first impression of them was actually on the phone. They were very pleasant and accommodating. Long story short, the receptionist told me the interview woul be from 10:30 to 12:30. I booked a 2:00 flight through fort lauderdale. 2 days later I got an itinerary saying afternoon interviews started at 1:30 after a tour, lunch with the dean, etc. I called and the receptionist told me there was nothing thy could do. I was looking at a $200 change fee for my flight so I asked to speak to a supervisor, and after a few minutes she switched me to the 8:30 slot. They were very interested in making me happy and that stuck with me.
When I actually got there, there we 5 or 6 other applicants in my group. The official interview was about 20 min long with 2 female ODs, although I imagine this changes. It was open file so there were no surprises with essays or grades. I had a few grades I wasn't proud of and I had a chance to explain why. They loved my personal statement and the interview was very conversational, not like a q&a. I was the 2nd or 3rd to go, so I had to wait a bit before everyone finished, then we met the assistant dean. He was the nicest guy ever. So pleasant and told us the typical university answers, as well as his opinion (the off the record stuff). Tey also gave us some lunch and after we got the tour by 3-4 OD-1s. My group was really excited and clearly loved the school. It made a great impression on me that they loved their school aftter being there only 3 months. After we got back, I had to catch my plane, but there was a financial aid session. I had gotten one at a previous school and assume they are relatively similar. Overall my impression was great.
