Hey fellow SDNers,
First, I want to congratulate all who have been accepted into their perspective dental schools for that is an amazing accomplishment! Also, to those who have not yet heard back from d schools keep the faith bc all of your hard work and determination will pay off!
Over the cycle I have read up on all of your valuable and very helpful information about schools throughout the country. Thank you all for that. Hopefully, you guys still have some help left in the tank for me.
For me, I have been offered acceptance at Nova and BU. I have also interviewed at Maryland mid January and have yet to hear back. My question to my fellow SDNers is this: I know Maryland would be my best option to attend if accepted, but if I had to decided between Nova and BU, which school do you guys think offer a better program overall(didactic and clinically)? Do not take into account cost bc both Nova and BU are both up there. Thank you all in advance for your much appreciated help and congratulations again! - Mike

Both have/had clinic/patient problems no? Didactic curriculum less important now that boards as P/F, you are likely to pass at either school. Are you interested in specializing/research? Maryland clear winner, maybe you'll hear something soon.

@Gaucho4Life Nova was my only pre dec interview bc I applied back in late October. So I have a deposit at Nova and have recently interviewed at Maryland and Boston. Boston responded 2 days later with an acceptance and gave me until feb 15. If my options are between Nova and Boston, I really need help with picking the best clinically. I've seen a lot of knowledgeable ppl on here esp you and glimmer to name a few so I've come to you and the rest of the SDNers for some major help

Well, I'd pick Maryland no doubt. Hopefully you hear good news before feb 15!

Compare their didactic and clinical curriculum here !

Interesting link!! Looking at vol. 4, I was really surprised to see significantly different numbers for didactic and clinical contact hours between the schools. It's hard to believe that you are getting the same degree from all of them.

@Gaucho4Life but my question for you still remains... Would you rather nova or bu?

Both schools have issues(based on what I've read on sdn) but I heard nova has resolved theirs.
Id give a slight edge to nova bc of weather and location

Based on what I just posted, BU. You will get ~1000 hours more clinical training there. It's a no brainer

Obviously Maryland trumps Both bu and nova

It's hard for me to say, I don't know anything about both schools besides climate.

Would you rather walk/take the public transportation in Boston, or would you rather drive to class everyday (own a car) in Ft. Lauderdale.
