For the class starting in 1999, 2,803 people applied and they interviewed 437. They interviewed about 50% of FL residents, and 10% of out of state residents.

ALL the schools in Florida prefer residents...U of South Florida will "circular file" your app if you're out-of-state. FSU only has 30 slots (this year) but they did interview a few out-of-staters (don't know who's been accepted, but there were 3 o.o.s interviewees on my day...and they only interview 100 people). UF interviews a few as well, but you have to be VERY, VERY competitive. Miami and Nova are private so they interview a few more than the state schools.

So yes, the Florida schools (all but USF) WILL interview o.o.s applicants but you have to be EXTREMELY competitive (kinda like applying to a California school)
