Found these helpful for self-assessment when I was preparing. Thought I'd start one for April 2022 NPTE. List your practice test scores and prep company with your score for the actual NPTE. Any helpful study methods will likely be appreciated, too. SCORES AND PREP STRATEGIES ONLY--DO NOT SHARE ANY CONTENT INFORMATION ABOUT THE ACTUAL EXAM.
2/14/22- ScoreBuilders Exam 1: 139/200, 69.5% raw score
3/12/22- Retired PEAT1: 146/200, 73% raw score
4/3/22- ScoreBuilders Exam 2: 151/200, 75.5% raw score
4/10/22- ScoreBuilders Exam 3: 153/200, 76.3% raw score
4/17/22- Practice PEAT1: 160/200, 80% raw score
4/24/22- Retired PEAT2: 165/200, 83% raw score
4/27/22- Actual NPTE: 725/800, ~91% scaled score (PASS)
Studied for 12 weeks, first 5 weeks about 3-4 days/week for about 2 hours. Last 7 weeks, studied about 5-6 days/week (about 2-4 hours each session). Took a practice exam almost every weekend for the latter half. Used ScoreBuilders Basecamp to track my progress, use their quizzes, and challenge people to question competitions. Probably got through 90-95% of the ScoreBuilders book. Also, used the PocketPrep app (paid for the question bank of 600, probably used about 450 of them). I studied during my last rotation and basically went to the library every night in the last 7 weeks after clinic until it closed. PocketPrep questions I found to be pretty difficult whereas ScoreBuilders is more basic info that helps you build your foundation. Note that the SB practice exams are only 4 sections/4 hours and are not the full exam experience. The PEATs are the most realistic (retired>practice).
Walked in the NPTE feeling pretty confident. Walked out feeling like trash and that I borderline felt like I failed. Turns out I crushed it and scored way better than any of my practice exams. What a relief!
