Hey Everyone!

The school I have decided to attend has an ultimate pass rate of 100% on the NPTE the last 5 years according to their website. The first time pass rate is not posted. Should I ask what the first time pass rate is? I wasn't sure how important that actually is compared to the ultimate pass rate. Thanks!

The test is expensive, ask them their first-time pass rate as well.

It does not hurt to ask that question, but I don't think it matters that much what the 1st pass rate is. If it is 100% overall, the program prepares you good enough to pass. Just do you best to study for NPTE when you get to that point. The average 1st time rate for all accredited school is between 85-95% I believe.

For me I believe first time pass rate is decently important. Once you graduate getting a job and license to practice is essential, while you can take the exam multiple times there is a wait time between each test taking. If their 100% pass rate comes mostly from people taking it for the 3rd time, think how that may impact you after graduating trying to find a job while waiting to take the test for a 3rd time. I would not be super concerned since like the above user stated most schools pass rate for 1st time is around 92%.

Spot on. Especially when the boards cost over $500 to take and that’s not including licensure fees.
