From what I have read/heard about, it seems that in most states, private medical colleges in India do not require prospective students under the NRI/Management quota to sit an entrance examination.
The only real pre-requisite of such students were that they had succesfully completed/received a minimum of 50% in Physics, Chemistry and Biology at a HSC/10+2 level.
However I was looking at admissions in the state of Kerala, and came across this under NRI admissions...
"Admission will be made on the basis of merit arrived at with reference to the marks secured by the candidate in the qualifying examination"
"Selection Procedure: Their merit will be decided on the basis of the marks obtained in the qualifying examinations and by a personal
interview."
That was an example of a couple colleges, but I had a look around, and infact ALL of the colleges there require you to sit a 'qualifying examination'.
..Is Kerala an exception to the rule??
