So I just finished NS FL #1 and my score was basically my diagnostic- I test in 3 weeks and I'm terrified.

Diagnostic -505
126
126
126
127

505
C/P=126
CARS=125
B/B=127
PSY/SOC=127

Am I dead in the water?

Start using AAMC material as soon as possible. It's the best resource you could use now

I've got 6 more NS exams left- should I skip some and just use AAMC stuff instead?

My problem lies in deciphering articles/ passages in B/B and C/P as opposed to content gaps.

Yes, make sure you take all 3 practice AAMC tests and as much AAMC practice material before your real MCAT. I suggest finishing the last AAMC exam no less than 4 days before the real thing.

So here's my plan: through 8/6-8/12 I'll take NS 3-6( one day one, one day off). Afterwards, I'll do AAMC 1-2 on 8/14-8/16.

On 8/1-8/5 I'll do a wealth of practice questions in an untimed setting.

Is this a good idea?

I know that studying for the MCAT is a fairly personal process that's gotta be tailored to your own needs, but I think a practice test every other day might be overkill (it could be different for you, I'm not sure). If I were in your situation (again, this is just what I would do/did), I would maybe take 1-2 tests per week and really make sure you're reviewing the exams and understanding what went wrong/right. From there, tailor the practice materials to your own needs; say you bomb the C/P portion of a practice exam, then spend some time reviewing that section and really attacking the c/p problems the AAMC gives you. Just make sure you're valuing quality over quantity

I'm studying for the MCAT too but one thing I've learned is that for me sometimes reviewing is more important than actually taking the test. I think 1 test with a nice review and learning why you got a questions from is better than just taking 2 practice tests in the same amount of time. Unless you're having trouble with your timing. Obviously you want a lot of practice under your belt, but I think what will really improve your score is a good amount of practice with a good amount of review (at least for me!). Do you have a target score?

You either postpone your test date so that you have enough time to do and review all practices, or you just start to do AAMC and let's see how it looks.
If AAMC practice test score looks bad, then postpone, cancel or void your exam.
If AAMC looks good, then just go ahead to take the test. There's really no need to continue doing NS FL at this stage.
If you want to take the MCAT on 8/19, now you shouldn't even look at NS at all. Just forget about them, I'm quite serious.

Ok, I'm reviewing my next step exams now and addressing any weaknesses- I'll take an AAMC exam on 8/5 and let you guys know.

My target score is 510+

When taking the NS exams, I was just getting a feel for timing and the exam so I don't think my scores are really representative of what I know (except maybe CARS, haha).

Thanks everyone!

if testing in 3 weeks, then you need to focus only on AAMC material to get used to their mentality. Your AAMC FL will predict your score. Once you take it you can decide whether you should postpone or not.

OP, did you have any trouble highlighting on NS practice tests? I took a free NS full length this past weekend and found out on passage 1 of Chem/Phys that every time I tried to highlight something, it would automatically highlight EVERYTHING prior to that.

No, I had no such issue.
