NSU, Anyone else in my boat?

I sent in everything but my DO letter in June...They got my DO letter processed by mid-Sept (per Email). When I called them a few weeks ago to say I haven't heard back, they said well have you not been getting Emails from us telling you your documents were received? I said, yaaaaaaaaaa...Then I asked if my file had been reviewed, they said "yes"...What the??? But I didn't have the guts to ask about the rest.

Others have gotten invites as well as rejections....Any ideas? I must be a "so-so" that they're holding off on??
 
Clement: I am in the same boat as you. I'm a florida resident and am attending the MS program over at Barry University in Miami and NSU is my number one choice. I've been complete since August but still nothing. I sent a letter of interest last week only to recieve a brochure and a copy of the secondary lol....go figure....
 
hahah...that's funny! I have a story of my own...Like I said, my primary and secondary were in by June...DO letter was in by mid-Sept.
About two weeks ago, I got an Email saying "we received your AACOMAS, pleaase fill out the secondary" !!!!....doh doh dohhhhhhhhhhh! Called 'em and they told me to disregard the Email.
 
Same story for me! I have been complete with NSU since Aug 28th. I haven't heard anything from them. I can't get a straight answer either, all they say is my application is in review and they will contact me. I also got the secondary email twice, but they didn't answer any of my emails or calls about what to do with the second one.

They haven't answered any of my Emails period...I guess it goes with the fact that they are a bigger school. Although, so is NYCOM and I seem to have luck getting in touch with them.
When I called NSU, they kept saying my app will be reviewed...Duh, that's why I applied!
So then I got the girl to tell me that it actually HAD BEEN reviewed...But our conversation ended there and that was weeks ago...Maybe I misunderstood her...

ahhh, you called her and she said "yes, you have been reviewed" but you did not have guts to ask about decision, or when they will let you know about their decision?
 
Just to let yall know....when they received my August MCAT scores I too received the 'please fill out our secondary app'.....no biggie right? Well the problem was I had already been accepted...so dont take it as they forgot about you, i think it's just an automated system
 
I don't know whats going on at NSU. I had all my stuff in mid-August and I still have not heard anything. I called last week and the person I spoke to said there was no record my application has been reviewed yet. Why is it taking them so long to review my application??? 😕

It took about 10 emails and several voice mails to get one "your application is in review" email back. I must have caught them on a good day once!

Nova's organization is def. subpar to say the least. I've been complete since mid August(although im sure they waited for my mcat score from august 2006) and haven't heard anything since. I'm getting worried but am a decent applicant and can not understand whats going on with them? Anyone else waiting for an interview that took the August MCAT?
 
I am. But I have only been complete for 5 days.
 
I got a rejection letter 2 days before my new MCAT came out, I think this is so unfair especially since I called and told them that I was taking the Aug MCAT just so they would wait to review my application. Anyways after I got the rejection letter and I recieved my new scores I called and asked if they would re-review my application and they said NO. How rude!!! They could have at least considered it. And to add insult to injury, they have sent me like 3 emails about secondarys and being complete after the rejection.
 
how is that rude..they have a minimum cut off obviously..and u didnt meet it
 
They did not even look at my new MCAT score. When I called she didn't even look at my file. She told me that they just look at an application once, and once they have rejected an applicant they wont go back. I think this was rude because I went out of my way to tell them not to look at my application until scores came out and they didn't. You are correct tho, maybe my new scores did not fit the cut off, although I dont think they have one and they did not even check to see if my new score did or not. I know I am not very competitive so I am not saying that I did not deserve a rejection, I am just saying that they did not even give me a full chance.

I too have not been too impressed with NSU's admissions department. My file there has been complete since around 8/31. I also got the e-mail about filling out a new application when my August MCAT scores came out. I have yet to receive any communication from them to verify that they have received my scores. Since my August scores came out I have received interviews at AZCOM, DMU and KCOM and at TCOM after my April scores. After numerous attempts at calling them on the phone and e-mailing I gave up on them. Even schools like PCOM and NYCOM which receive an extremely high volume of applications had the courtesy of sending me a letter stating that my application was complete and my status at each school. I felt that my time in the past month or so was better served at working on schools that do communicate. It sounds like they are going to upset alot of qualified applicants if they continue with these problems.
 
So i just received 3 letters in the mail (all on the same day) informing me to fill out a secondary and an email with the same information!! whats going on?? I thought i had my application in early. I am a florida resident and I've received 5 interviews out of state. Shouldnt I have heard from NSU already??? 🙁
 
Our admissions department doesn't have the best reputation. However, they are making strides to make things better. In the last two years they have implemented the online secondary application and are trying to mainstream the process.

I know it is a lot of stress on everyone, but hold tight with admissions. Follow up as much as you can and continue to keep contact on occassion (update any changes to your application). They have good intentions, just not always great execution.

...Besides, we have a great school...it's worth it.
