I'd like to know what is the average PCAT score range of an accepted student at NSU COP. I scored a 73 composite after taking it once and have a 3.93 gpa. Thanks.

NSU does not release that data. There is no minimum requirement either. Your 73 PCAT is fine, I talked with some people who received interview invites with PCAT scores lower than yours. My PCAT score is a little higher but my GPA is lower than yours. I already had an interview.

Your GPA and PCAT are fine, but keep in mind that these are not the only aspects considered. NSU wants sound evidence of professionalism and interest in pharmacy (ie. great LORs, pharmacy experience, ECs, etc...) Hang in there, I am sure that you will hear from them soon.

Yep, i definitely hope so, especially after the interviewing process was somewhat mediocre in my experience even after i prepared. Guess we'll see in early March when i get either a thin envelope or a big certified package. 😛

Let's all pray for that big certified package!

Hello guys, I am waiting for the big nova package, I had an interview a month ago, but I have not received anything yet, "I am waiting". Did any body had an interview at NSU around the same time and have not received anything yet?

why is it only ppl with high gpa and failrly low pcat getting the interview while the ppl with super high pcat but lower 3.0's not getting any? uh

Pharmpills, why are you saying that?

i've talked to some admissions ppl down here in texas about that and what they say is that the PCAT is one day... your GPA is 3 or 4 years. Granted, the PCAT does test retention but one has to consider a multitude of different factors (i.e. bad day/week; bubbling in wrong circles; etc). But with your GPA, its hard to make those same excuses. So I guess for them, its about what you can do in the classroom rather than on a single test (long run vs. short run). That's what ppl have told me

Pcat scores in the 70-80 range are not "fairly low". These scores make up the competitive range for most schools.

GPA and PCAT scores are not the be all, end all (especially for Nova). I was told that Nova looks more for professionalism and desire to become a pharmacist. They place heavy weighting on pharmacy experience, LORs, work experience, ECs, and professional ECs.

This is true. Most of my questions were related to my work experience, my opinions of the pharmacists I've worked with, and why specifically made choose pharmacy.

Are you US citizen, permanent resident or international student?

Do you know if this citizenship status would affect the decision of the school?
Thank you!

I cannot see where the post is that is being quoted. 😕
I found it in the second paragraph of post #2, but it wasn't minzi that originally posted it

That makes me feel a little better. I just started doing Collins practice sections and so far I have bombed the math part. Chem is tonight. Still have a month and a half to prepare but yikes!

Oh that's awesome. I took verbal and reading practice sections and did extremely well in both. Just have to work on building my stamina for those sections cuz I found myself getting tired. Biology I did ok but should be able to improve to a good level there. My main focus has to be math and chem. If I get respectable scores in those two my verbal/reading and bio could boost my overall composite. Hopefully! :scared:
