I am an out of state student about to start NSU. Just wondering if there is anyway that I can qualify for instate in future years? Are there things that I should be doing immediately to start that process (i.e. getting a FL driver's license, finding seasonal work, looking to marry a local - just kidding )?

"Upon matriculation, you are not eligible for reclassification of state residency and for tuition purposes, will be assessed out-of-state tuition for all subsequent terms of attendance."

I believe you have to get a FL driver's license, as well as take care of your car registration regardless.

Yeah I think IamaBanana's info. is correct. I was looking into the same thing as you, EmmaNemma. Looks like we're gonna have to cough up that extra for all four years.

A little off-topic, how easy to get the driver's license in Florida? I haven't had my license in Ohio yet so just wondering. I looked up the DVM and it said sth about the three-point turn test. What is that exactly?

not if you are a student and can list parent's address as permanent address. I still have my out of state license and have gotten pulled over many times without any problems😀.

Phew. That makes my life easier.

Do we have to carry FL insurance?

Well, I guess I'm listing my mom's house as my permanent address until I'm almost thirty then.
