I think so?? It was so long ago I don't remember. It was back the first week of October!! I called 11/10 and they said I was totally complete with letters...when I called yesterday she said I was complete and she didn't know when my file would be reviewed but she knew it was "soon"

I interviewed yesterday and it was far LESS stressful than I anticipated from reading the SDN Med School Interview Feedback. Nevertheless, those feedbacks helped to motivate me to go as prepared as possible, e,g. I read Gevitz "The D.Os.s"-NSU-COM is seriously committed to its osteopathic identity.

Also, be sure that before you go, your application file is complete. The Adcom will meet within 1-2 weeks of your interview but if your file is not complete a decision will be delayed until it is.

Hey, I was wondering when you were complete? I noticed in another thread you said you received the invite for interview on the 19th and then you interviewed on the 27th of the same month of Nov.

How were you able to get the interview THAT QUICKLY upon invitation and clearance of your application?? I was curious about that. Let me know ASAP, I may give Vicky Shwartzbaum a call and inquire on any earlier dates for the interview.

Congrats once more, let me know how you fared with the adcom decisioning.

yeah, something sounds kinda odd about it all. Sasevan (apologize if i misspelled) received an invite on 11/19 for an interview on 11/27. I received an invite on 11/28 for an interview all the way down to 2/15. I dont know why. I know my DO LOR is probably just coming in and my composite letter may be on its way there, but it doesnt make sense for the huge discrepancy in the interview invitation dates ... and here you are complete well over a month ago and still havent received an interview invitation. That's plain odd .. and weird.

I wonder if I should call Vicky and inquire about an earlier interview date??? 😕 😕

Anyways, what are you guy's opinion about my last few posts within the thread?? Should I give Vicky a call and inquire about an earlier interview slot .. like january or somethin?

Yeah, why not? Couldn't hurt to ask. Let her know that if a spot opens earlier, you'd like to take it.

definitely, there are always slots that will be open due to cancellations, etc. so it's worth a shot.
 
Sounds great! I will do that 1st thing Monday. I just wasnt sure if it would be a bad thing to call them and request an earlier date or not. I'll give it a shot, 2.5 months is too much a wait for me!!
 
I got my interview invite a week before the interview which was scheduled for 11/17 but I had to reschedule and it was moved to Jan. 12, 2007 🙂

Ok, well I emailed Vicky lastnite and received a reply this morning. Evidently, they stop interviewing after Dec. 8 before they break for the holidays and then go back to interviewing late 1st week of January. They said that there are no spots for interviewing avail during the months of Dec. and January ..


wow, all I can say is ... WOW!! LECOM-B and UASOM told me their Dec. and Jan. slots are NOT even filled ... NSUCOM's is ... I have a hard time believing it, maybe NSUCOM truly is reserving slots for their in-staters 😕 😕

Well, I'll no longer email them about it because I do not wish to piss them off. It is one of the top DO options for me and #3 or 4 on my overall list, as I do like PCOM-Ga, as well ... and I hope to get in, so I will be obedient and interview on the date they have me reserved for the interview! 😱

I am also an instate student....but it's great that you have an interview at Nova also...Have you received your interview package in the mail, Dr. Inviz....? THey send it certified mail...

Hey, I apologize if I made you out to being a male 😳

Thanks!! I dont live at home, but my mother is supposed to transfer me the interview package (she called me when it came in like on Friday and told me that she'll be sending it my way -- my mother didnt want me having mail sent to where i live because its only temporarily and i'll be moving out when the spring semester ends ...) ... so yeah, im looking out for it. I so wish I could have that January interview over a February one; however, a Feb. interview is MUCH better than no interview!! 😎
 
I had a question ...

how long does it take for committee letters to be received by the med school(s)?? It appears every school has received my DO LOR and my secondary, but not my committee letter ... 😕 😕

Also ... should I go ahead and have MDs and PhDs submit in LORs as well? Or is the one DO LOR good enough?

I'm going to try to be nice and yes in a way this is picking on you. However, you are becoming a medical student soon with many responsibilities. That being said your an adult so next time you have a year of getting extremely important packages use the post offices change of address and become an adult by cutting the cord. That way you will never have to wait on things you are supposed to get by the mail. It is very easy process and I assure you won't have to have your mother to send them.

Bug your school to make sure they send your letters.... This is your resume in a sense build it how you want ie use common sense.

i agree if living in an apartment, but I disagree if he lives in a dorm. Those schools postal systems can get ugly.

When I moved back home for the summer last year from college, my mail was supposed to get forwarded starting the first week of June. It didn't happen until the 2nd week in August (right before school started up again). Turns out the postal carrier lied to the postmaster because he quote "didn't feel like" forwarding my mail (we found this out after an entire summer of me vs. postal office). So it disappeared into a giant hole where it "could not be found". Because if it gets bounced back, like it did because my postman sent it back, they like throw it away eventually. I was sooooooo pissed. So I never forward mail if I can help it anymore, who knows what was lost??

It is a dorm .. I dont want to trust the school possibly losing mail ... its happened before ...

Plus, my mother tries to keep up with what all I do in preparation for when my younger brother applies .. because I may not be there by the time its time for him to apply ...

Thanks Dr. HessDO (narcisist gunner!) for the snooty comment. I have no probs cutting the cord, when the time is needed, however, family is important for me ... it may not be for you.

Whatever it takes. If all I can get is Feb .. then Feb. it is. It's better than no interview invite .. and Ive heard in the past that those applying in March have made it as well, so not all's lost.

call every so often. especially now since people are putting in deposits for schools, they are dropping their interview spots.

Just FYI--
If the interviews are offered on realtively short notice, sometimes the package won't make it on time. This happened to me, I just emailed the school about a week before the interview and then when I got to the school for the interview I inquired about it and they got me all of the information that I needed.

There isn't much in the package that you really need before the interview--and if it gets close to the time, ppl on here will help you out with hotels and things of the such I'm sure.

I finished my secondary about two and half weeks ago, and was invited to interview a week later. I'll be there on February 27! 🙂 I am very excited since my state school (TCOM) is not looking good. Still no word there....🙁
 
hey guys ... does nsu send you a document received email for your recommendation packet as well? I got one for my sig page but not one for the committee letter yet. GRRRR :meanie:
