Funny how I get waitlisted at LECOM Erie, but I get into my top choice school.

Congratulations!!!!!😀 👍

Do u think they'd allow two students to swap interview dates? If so Dr. Inviz....I'd seriously consider it...if you would...I'm Jan. 12...

Hmm, what day of the week is Jan. 12th?

Hi, I sent in all my stuff about 2 weeks ago, called Linda and she told me they got everything, but i have still not received an e-mailing telling me that they got everything (although I did get one for the signature page)
I have e-mailed them twice about this and still no answer, anyone got any advice? I'm getting to the point where I don't even want to go to NOVA now because of their inability to get anything done. Any suggestions?

NSU is definitely anything BUT snail in their processing of apps. Just relax, especially with the Christmas break looming, things may be a little slow. When I was complete by mid-Nov., I received an invite via email within 8 days of submitting my secondary and I still keep tabs on them (just called them today to confirm if theyd finally received my commitee letter -- fortunately, they did 2 days ago, so im totally complete in terms of DO LOR, Committee Letter, and of course my AACOMAS and Secondary App. .. I may now consider hitting up some of the MDs ive shadowed and the PhD I did research with ...)

From what I was told ... my premed committee letter was 14 pages long ... i was thinking to myself ... wow, thats crazy!

Anyways, give 'em a call, they respond to that better than emails ...

Goodluck!

I just checked the calender, Jan. 12th is a Friday, which is ideal in any other circumstance except that all of my classes for the Spring are scheduled for MWF blocks and I also have work (as an RA) on that Friday, as well.

However, if I decided to cancel the Immunology class Im currently planning on taking in the Spring, maybe it wont matter, but ... Jan. 12th feels so close all of a sudden

See that annoyed me even more because I sent in my secondary almost a month ago (Nov 8th), and sent in all the formal letters about 2 weeks ago.
From what I have been reading (and i could be wrong) but your file was not complete and they still asked you for an interview. (I had all the required letters sent to them)

Right, I was not complete in terms of letters when I received the invite. I think that has no bearing on the invite. I think that they decide interview invites based on the AACOMAS and secondary application, and if they like what they see, they send out that interview invite ASAP. My letters are all in now, so by the time I do interview, I will have been complete so they can make their decision about me ASAP for acceptance (hopefully 😎 )

anyways, im not sure what your stats are like, or what all you had in your apps, but just call them and ask what your status is in terms of your apps and interview, etc. ... and be patient! goodluck!

That makes me even less hopeful of getting an interview, they must not like what they see then.
My stats at 3.8 with a 22, a psychobiology and history major
Oh well, i guess its all part of the process

3.8 GPA is really good, 22 MCAT is low, but I imagine there have been pre-meds who have been accepted to NSUCOM with a 22 MCAT ... but dont quote me on it.

what are youre stats if you don't mind me asking?

Another thing to remember, with DO schools, its not simply about stats, they look at the entire application to decide if the applicant is the right fit for their school.

Thus, ECs, health-related experiences, research experience, classes taken, personal statement, etc. can all play a role in their decision ...

eh, dont stress out.

im sooo EXCITED about NSU! I REALLY want to attend NSU!! Cant wait to attend the interview and get that acceptance!! 😎 😀 😍

Ahhhh I keep trying to call them to see what is up with my application (been COMPLETE since 11/10) and still heard nothing. I can't get to anyone, just voicemails!! Does anyone have a specific number/person's name I could call to inquire about this since people after me have already gotten invites??

Thanks!

Call Vicky at 800-356-0026 ext. 1124 or 954-262-1124 (or you can email her at [email protected])...she seems to be very nice

Ok I think I am giving up on NSU....sigh....I submitted my app 10/4. They've had my letters since first week of November. They keep saying it is waiting to be reviewed. I called AGAIN today, talked to Vicky she said she has no access to see people's files. Then I got transferred to normal admissions office, where she finally told me that they review people's applications as soon as they come in, and if you have a 25 MCAT or over you automatically get an interview; if not you are reviewed again. I said "OK, you've had my app for over 2 months, people that recently submitted got interviews within like 2 weeks, and I have over a 25 MCAT". She said "We have rolling admissions, your file is waiting to be reviewed again". I said "but you just said that it is reviewed immediately and automatically get an interview invite". She said "We have rolling admissions"

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHh

Not sure what to say Lisa, but atleast you do have LECOM and DCOM to look forward to (and wherever else you got in if you have gotten in elsewhere). LECOM-Br just sent me a pre-interview hold, so go-figure right? Hopefully LECOM-Br meets back within the month (like they said according to the letter) and decide to invite me for an interview. I definitely dont want to go into the NSU interview knowing that is my only guaranteed interview and shot at acceptance. Goodluck though, I surely will need it ... keep me informed on NSU and what all happens with that. :luck:

To be honest, I am convinced all those admissions people are full of it.
I know people one guy who has a 3.9 and above a 25 and nothing from NOVA, but has been accepted by FSU and interviewed at University of Pittsburgh (a more pretigious school then NOVA)
I think they are just jerking us around, and I have given up any hope that NOVA will call. That whole thing of them looking at things other then the MCAT is not true. I called them after I got my MCAT score and they told me that the likelyhood of me matriculating was unlikely, that was months ago. I called them today and they told me they have all of my stuff and they told me that my file has been reviewed and that was it (way to leave it on a cliff hanger). She then added that I have a score less then a 25. I am going to study for the April MCAT and just reapply in the Fall, hopefully get it. I am sorry to be a downer.
