Does it look bad to dental schools if you took, say about 13 credits, this semester? I'm a senior, btw. I've usually always took 15-17 credits in the past. When I applied through AADSAS, I said I was going to take 16 credits this semester, but now I'm thinking that 13 credits may be better for myself. Will it look bad if I changed my application to lower my load?

Thanks

Are the courses all upper division science courses? If so, I don't think it's bad. Plus, if you have work or something, it's not bad at all.

However, if your GPA is low, then 16 credits would be better. It shows that you can not only handle the load, but do well in the classes (that's assuming you will ace those classes). If you do not think you can ace those classes with 16 credits, then go with 13 credits. It's better to get those A's.

Like Accent said, it largely depends on your GPA and prior course-loads. If you think you can do it, go ahead. If you don't think you can handle it, well, dental school is going to beat you like a red-headed step child. Probably better to get used to it now, IMO.

Good Luck!

if your GPA and everything is fine, then just take the classes need to graduate (even if it's just one) and focus on interviews and supplementals this semester- these are the important things IMO..

I'm basically done with my upper level science courses. I'm taking 2 more next semester. This current semester, I'm just trying to get my psychology minor out of the way and other general education requirements like art history out of the way. I was thinking of dropping one of my psych and taking it next semester. My gpa is okay. So, maybe it is best if I drop this course and focus on getting A's in my class to boost my average gpa right now.

Wondering about this issue too.

I am in my last semester of community college and only need physics II and calculus II to get my associate degree. I could take other classes like microbiology or anatomy but I want to take them at the university. I have been averaging 15-16 credits for the past 4 semesters.

what yall think?
