Number of job opportunities

Absolutely not. Ever. There are tons and tons of neurology jobs available. The hardest decision was narrowing the list down.

And the same factor you state (while true) doesn't exactly bother the orthopaedic surgeons (or whoever) either, right?

Ever worry about the fact that there are so few neuro jobs available compared to primary care jobs?

As of right now, I have a service obligation with the military that ends in less than a year. Thus, I receive no less than 3 calls per day from recruiters that have job opps to discuss, I receive no less than 2 emails per day from recruiters for the same reason, I also receive at least one piece of postal mail per day regarding a neurology job.

Okay, that being said, a lot of recruiters want to rope you in and annoy you. But in reality, there are plenty of jobs out there. I myself cannot believe how many serious job opportunities I have lined up.

The jobs are out there and trust me, at least right now, there is no lack of opportunity.

even though there may be a lower number of neuro positions than primary care positions, there are also many many more residency programs training future PCPs (Peds, Med/peds, IM, FM, OBGYN) than neurologists. I've worked with a decent number of neurologists that have a 6months-1year waiting period for new patients. Also, AFAIK there isn't as big of a push to have advanced practice nurses operate independently in neurology as compared to primary care.

I agree with the above. I have about a year left of residency and will still be training for a few years with fellowships. Even this far out, I have been getting at least 10 e-mails a week recruiting for neurology jobs, and they started when I was an intern. Recruiters sometimes even call up the clinic to try to reach me to discuss jobs. I can't imagine having any difficulty finding a job.
