I am hoping some kind souls would be interested in starting a list that identifies the number of spots a program is offering this year. I think such a list might help current applicants figure out exactly what they are up against...especially with those programs that are on a rotating schedule.

Thanks!

-- does the number after the backslash indicate the # of people they are interviewing total? in other words, for UVA does it mean that they are interviewing 48 people for 2 positions? why would they interview so many people for so few spots? just trying to figure things out... thanks for your help.

has anyone clarified if JHH is really 3 or just two like they say on the web site?

It is 2...I interviewed there on Saturday. The 3 came from the website before it was updated from last year.

It is true that UVA didn't fill 2 years ago. They have a very good program, though. They just didn't rank enough people that year. I heard it from PD himself. In fact, he said the one who came in by scramble was much better than some that they ranked. Good for them.

Ok, so according to the NRMP, Duke and Loyola both only have one spot. I know when I interviewed at these places I was told they each had 2. Anybody know what is going on?

It seems that there are major discrepancies b/w what several programs said and what is actually on NRMP. Wish I knew what was going on.

Well, they also have UNC as having 2 spots this year. Now, I am pretty darn sure they did not even take applications. Maybe the current info is just out of date.

hey guys/gals,
i'm currently a resident a Loyola, and can confirm that we are taking 2 positions this year. I haven't checked the nrmp site, but we did have a situation where we had 3 PGY5s at one time (out of 6 residents total). That didn't work out too well in terms of conferences, call etc, so we are currently in a 1-2-2-1 resident cycle. Two will be graduating next year, so we're essentially matching 2 to replace them. Good luck everyone!!

programs have to finalize their quotas for how many people they will be accepting by Jan. 31. After that point it should be accurate.
