all VA programs can give you an excellent experience especially in pros... but some are limited in emergency care (unless affil with Hosp with active ED) and peds care (again unless affil)..... The VA is making some changes,,, check them out . Speak to current residents.

The Bronx VA is affiliated with Mt. Sinai's dental department. The residents used to come to some of the Mt. Sinai lectures, particularly the OMS lectures. It sounded like they did a good chunk of fixed, removable, and implant restorations. They must restore implants because Bronx VA was where the Mt. Sinai OMS residents would go for their training in implant placement. Also, the OMS fellowship interns (1-year program) were often at the Bronx VA handling a lot of the OMS stuff there. As a Bronx VA GPR resident, you can live in the Mt. Sinai housing (decent NYC housing at very decent prices, I miss my Mt. Sinai studio!). There is a bus that runs between Mt. Sinai and the Bronx VA to get you there. On-call is supposedly minimal to non-existent.
