Just wondering if anyone would mind helping to compile a list of programs in NYC that offer housing for students doing away rotations. If you know from experience or your own research, please list them here. So far all I've been able to find are options for resident housing. Besides finding a share on craigslist, what are some options for near affordable temporary housing in the major cities? YMCA or something? Any advice would be appreciated.

you can find some listings also on www.rotatingroom.com and www.beds4meds.com where med students list their places for while they're on away rotations. they usually ask for the cost of their rent. nyc is pretty expensive though...i can tell u that cornell didn't offer housing.

Thanks a lot... I had not heard of rotatingroom.com until now. Free housing would be awesome, but I wasn't expecting that. A database directed toward med students is great, though. Anything to cut down on the hassle of finding a place.

Sinai has limited housing opportunities. Most people just find a way to sublet someone else's apartment for a month or so. You can also find some housing in lower East Harlem if you want to be close by.
