I contacted the admission office yesterday and asked if any movement of the waitlist and she said no. I then asked if the class for 2012, this fall was full and she replied it was. The person on the phone was a bit rude and said to me good luck next time.
I also find it odd that there are only 10 or so people on the waitlist. It's a possibility that there are more out there and we just don't know it. There may or may not have been movement. How would anyone know for sure. As the game is played, who knows maybe at orientation someone might back out and there will be a seat available. I also find it strange that at least one person withdrew and we have not heard of the person they took from the wait list. What can we do? Absolutely Nothing!

Well we know the wait list isn't guaranteed, but no need to shatter all hope just yet 😎.
I see people here and there dropping out, so can't call it quits right now. In addition, everyone should have had alternate plans even before getting into this waitlist mess, but no need to close up shop.
To all who share my restlessness, tiredness, and indignation with this process I wish the best!
to give you guys a little hope, i know of 5 c/o 2012 students that withdrew this week. also, if i get off the pcom waitlist, it will be 6. good luck!

How do you know a number of people are dropping out of NYCOM's class of 2012? I didn't see anything on the NYCOM discussion thread...
.Also I think we can count on some people dropping out tomorrow seeing that everything (financially speaking) is due by August 1st. If it is not in, the seat and deposit is lost....so my one piece of non-altruistic advice is to pray to whomever that you pray to that some seats upon up for all of us.
He is correct about some students not going to NYCOM and another pulled off the WL, was almost banned for standing up to some racist republicans
I've seen people saying either on this thread or different ones that the class is actually overfilled. So does that mean they're just not going to take anyone off the waitlist even if people have dropped out?
...agreed. Also it would be very disappointing to wait all this time, to only learn that the waitlist never moved. But if this were the case, wouldn't they have the decency to just say forget about this year and apply next? (or something more concrete).
Anyways tomorrow brings another day, and I'm hoping for the best for us all.
Decency? surely you jest. i wouldnt be at all surprised if some in the admissions office are getting their jollies with the knowledge that we sit here in anxiety waiting for them to call.
That being said, does anyone have any news? Any new withdrawals?
any new information?
...i called the admissions office today. the lady was pretty rude when i asked her if the class was full...
i'm a NYCOM fan myself and i've been calling alot to find out about the waitlist. Usually the ladies are nice but yesterday the lady sort of laughed. I think it just made me upset because i'm just losing patience now. I think the people at NYCOM need to realize how important this is to us and give us a clear answer. My orientation starts on Monday and I was hoping that I would be in a better position this week so that I know if I have to go to orientation or not.
oh well..goodluck to all of you! i hope we all make it 🙂

yea it is tough but if i dont hear anything from NYCOM tomorrow then i'll be going to orientation on monday and moving on. thats all we can do until we hear from them right?
and yes I am going to Touro NY...are you going there too?
yup..i guess i'll be seeing u in a few days...
so did anyone hear anything about the waitlist?
i feel exactly the same way as you. i've been wondering the same thing and thats exactly why i was really hoping i would hear from NYCOM this week so that i don't have to go to orientation and then back out. But i guess if it comes to that then there's nothing we can do expect pick the one that will be better for us in the long run although it would be a very awkward situation.
I feel your pain my friend. You definitely bring up a good point that doing your job is doing your job and that regardless of how annoying it may get, they should still try to be courteous.
I mean no harm as well. I wish you the best of luck and don't get your dreams all crushed just yet. It aint over till the fat lady sings. People get pulled off waitlists a few days into the semester too. Good luck!
