Holy **** on a stick!!!! They've made decisions?!?!?!? I called them this morning and they said NOTHING!!!! And I did not give them my name, since I'm the one who calls 3x per week lol.

futuredrandwife, NOVA is an awesome school so I think it might be worth taking the trip to Florida to check it out yourself! Who knows, maybe you will fall in love with it! Either way, its awesome how we could be hearing from them any day now. I'm hoping tomorrow or Saturday!!

Oh now don't get me wrong- I love NOVA. I'm very excited about the interview. I'm just sad that I may be in the air on my way to FL when my sister calls and says there's an envelope from NYCOM at the house lol. It is going to KILL me!!!
 
yea hahaha drwilson was saying earlier that ADCOMS already sent out some mails... since all of the people that interviewed in november were from new york, there is a good chance we might hear back Saturday!!! 😱

if you are interviewing in november at nycom, as long as your interview didn't suck (which most people's doesn't at nycom it's usually ez mode)... you are probably in if you're local.

That's what I've heard!!! I definitely hope that's true... I'm from Long Island so I think that's pretty local. 😉 I think most of us, if not all, were from NY. Thanks for the tip though - keeping my fingers crossed!! :xf:
 
it would be great if i could find out today because i leave for west virginia tomorrow morning. anyone think they'd tell me if i called admissions and explained my situation ... if i found out i got into nycom i would cancel my interview at wvsom/flight/hotel etc (which would be GREAT). somethings telling me they won't tho. any suggestions?

just try it.. it can't hurt. first find out if they'll do it, then give them your name.
 
I agree with tourniquet1963, that is a ligitimate reason to find out over the phone.. at least in my opinion. I will be doing the same if I don't hear from them by next Thursday. Just call and politely let them know your situation and stress how NYCOM is your #1 choice and im sure they will find ways to work with you. Good luck!

I hope that's true too.. from what I heard, this year NYCOM had a 25% increase in the number of application from last year which means they received over 5000 applications for only 300 seats... even if they accepted 600 applicants and only 300 matriculated, were looking at MOST a 12% acceptance rate 🙁
 
Right but that acceptance rate is increased dramatically because we were invited for interviews and interviewed within the first two weeks. The 12% applies to the entire pool, including those who apply very late in the cycle, and those who were not invited to interview or were placed on hold.

my first acceptance and my first choice 🙂

good luck .. keep me posted!! they told me i'll receive a letter mid week next week.

I wont though. Not exactly expecting a decision after two days. I mean, who do I think they are, LECOM?
 
lol same here, I Was really tempted to call and find out, but imn going to suck it up and wait till next week lol but definitely congrats. must be one heckuva good feeling!

Was it a guy? Because I called and he said to call back when the secretary was there. I called back and she said that no information is given over the phone. I feel like it's a bad omen that he didn't just give me the info.
 
don't worry too much about it buddy. Your thinking too much into it. I'm sure you are fine, just be patient!
 
Not to mention I am in the same situation and explained it to them and still nothing. This is torture. But thanks.
 
well its also possible that after giving out one result, they quickly realized that everyone will start calling in so they are taking a stronger stand against giving out results over the phone. Didn't you interview the first two weeks of november? As long as your interview went okay, I wouldn't worry too much about it.
 
oh no i'm sorry 🙁 ... now i feel terrible. i'm sure you will get good news ... everyone I know has told me that if we interviewed this early it is a VERY VERY good chance.

Yes hahahahah I explained that I'm flying to FL on Monday and then to Erie on Wednesday. I'm still going to go to FL but I will most likely cancel Erie. She was VERY nice, too. Yeyyyyyy I am so relieved... first acceptance!!!

Who are you guys calling? Maybe I am calling the wrong place for answers. Are you calling the admissions office?
 
yeah, i called the admissions number on their website, and they wouldnt tell me.. i have their info packet at home, but by the time i get home from work, it will be well after 5. im crazy anxious right now:scared:

lol, i tried!!.. but i didnt beg them.. and i didnt make up a situation.. i just asked if decisions are available and they said they are being mailed out.. and i said OK lol.. i had too many butterflies in my stomach to badger them about it..

Yes, I'm calling the admissions number and got right through to a very nice woman. But then again, I did have a situation where I'll be flying up and down (or vice versa) the entire East Coast this coming week so she was more sympathetic toward my situation.
