I just wanted to know how often NYCOMERs go out to the city to party and what the social scene is in each class because I know that I am fascinated by NYC and I know that NYer's love to party. This could affect my academics, undoubtedly, so that's why im interested. Thanks

Partying in NYC is definitely a plus...especially when you are trying to blow off some stress from school!!! Being that we are on a block system (exams every 5-6 weeks), it does give you some time for fun. I usually go out once a week (as long as I am caught up on my lectures!). We are about 25 minutes away from the city (about 40 minutes by train)...

First and second year partying is dictated by your exam schedule. For the few weeks before block exams, use your time wisely. Afterwards, it can get ugly 😉

Third and fourth year allows you more time in the city depending on your rotation and the time requirments involved, some have lots of free time, others require you to work almost every weekend. Many third and fourth year students live in the city as there's many hospitals there.
