For those who applied and then received the secondary from NYCOM, how long did it take from the time you applied to receiving the secondary? Did anyone get a letter stating that they have received your application and it is under review and only those invited for an interview will get the secondary,,,,,,,,,,and then actually get the secondary in the mail after receiving that letter? 😕

It appears that NYCOM has been interviewing NY and NJ residents at the moment. I am sure they will start sending out secondaries (along with interview invites) to everyone else beginning in Jan.

I was complete in July, and got my secondary in November, but I don't think they started sending them out until October. The secondary wasn't too bad, they asked about extracurriculars, reasons for NYCOM, and can't remember what else. But I made a copy first so I could make sure all my answers fit on the lines before I wrote it on the hard copy.

Yes, I got that letter. It was about two months after I was complete before I received the invitation to interview. That was about the end of October. The secondary is easy. No esaays, just questions about ECs and why NYCOM. BTW, I am in-state. Good luck!😀

I don't think there is a set minimum GPA/MCAT score which warrants an automatic interview for nycom. If you call them, they will say "interviews are conducted from now nov-may(?)" and you may be called up for interview at any moment. I'm in state and have not heard from them, complete october, don't lose hope, wait and see.

Mine are low and in my profile below, but my ECs, research, and LORS are strong and the schools seem to like the fact that I am non-trad and have four kids. 😀

I just got an interview invite in the mail today. The letter was dated 12/21 and i recieved a letter from NYCOM around 12/6 saying they had received my primary. I am instate and my interview was scheduled for 1/18. My stats are pretty average and mcat is even on the lower side (24R and 3.6 sci/3.65 overall gpa). Hope you get some love soon too!!
