This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.

true. I assume you are going to go there. Why not cast the first stone?

JEW:
The godfather is like darklord and applying with his high school GPA...that would explain the slightly above average DAT score with the 4.0 GPA

Well, everybody has a different sense of humor. I found it funny. I don't have to explain why; I just found it funny.

you spelled kids incorrectly...tsk tsk...and what does this kids shot mean?

Does anyone know how full the class of 2013 at NYCPM is so far? Is it too late to apply?

msa, you have seen enough threads here on SDN to know what the real solution to your question is. CALL THE SCHOOL AND ASK QUESTIONS YOURSELF!!!!!!
this attitude of being afraid to talk to authoritative figures is a huge issue in society for kids these days. when i went back for my post bacc stuff I was older than most of my TA's and a few professors. I was amazed how easy it was to talk to them and ask for help --they are normal people, just smarter than you on the subject, and obviously are wanting to help others---while college age kids would be too timid to ask and instead resorted to hearsay and gossip and rumors.

I would love to hear PAD, diabeticDr and other attendings weigh in on this topic.

If you have nothing positive to add to this thread to or to answer people just move on .... instead of those useless comments trying to discipline people ... and in doing so, you people completely messed up the purpose of this thread and many others... if it didn't concern you don't waste your time and move on please... its in the best interest for all of us ...

amen to that!!! seriously. stop trying to control the forum and let people ask whatever they want. if you dont want to answer the question/s then dont even open the thread.

Not sure you guys are still talking about stats but I have a 3.7 GPA and I bombed the MCATs with a 19M

my first time i got 19M exactly and i have similar gpa haha thats crazy! you got in with a 19? or is that your first time?

I got in with the 19 surprisingly but I had a lot of shadowing experience. I'm thinking of retaking the MCATs to see if that would help me qualify for scholarships.

Hey KaitD, when did you apply? And how long did it take for you to get your response back for acceptance. These questions can apply to anyone.

What's up with people putting religion in their names? Smile786, MSA786, ect and why are there so many of you in the pod forum ROFL.

As a side note, I was looking through the DO MSAR today, and some DO schools have a huge number of South Asian students (I think LECOM was like 10%). Woot! Go South Asian People 🙂

I decided that I wanted to do podiatry in November and filler out all of the application then and submitted it. I took my MCATs in January, so it wasn't until the day after they received my scores that I got an email inviting me to an interview. After my interview they got back to me in less than a week and called me to tell me I was accepted 🙂

Hope this helps. PM me if you have any other questions!

Thanks KaitD.

By the way, Darklord. Why do you have a problem with what people do or include in their user names? Maybe some are religious and some are not. If you haven't learned yet; people are different and think differently. Plus, your user name includes the word "Lord." Hmm, what context is "Lord" used in? (Hint: Religion)

ROFL,

I just came back from Isha. Anyway, I just get annoyed by 786 because it has no religious significance at all. Have you ever seen an Arab, Indonesian, or African Muslim using it? No, because it is pretty much a subcontinent invention. It is FAKE! I can't believe even our most educated people (refering to people from the subcontinent), on SDN, can not tell even the most basic of superstition that exists within their culture, which they believe is part of their religion. Nevertheless, my own belief is that we need to see the blatant myth and fabrication that exists in all religions and that we need to analyze and remove it.

Sorry about the rant.

😍 Peace,
Darklord

Darklord is a name I created when I was 10, which was not too far off because I'm still in high school.

Hmm, still in high school. Then it explains the reason why you asked such questions. By the way, 786 means Bis-Millah (English Translation: In the name of Allah). Now you know. I've read in many religious books that the number represents that; it's not some religious belief or superstition. Anyways, this thread is about Podiatry.

It seems that age discrimination is still widespread. That's illegal you know 😎

Well, I explained it to you. I don't know what obscure books you've read, but I suggest you google "786-Islam" and find out for yourself.

The Arabic numerals that we use today did not exist 1400 years ago; thus there were many counting methods available at the time. One method was alif = 1 ba=2, and so on. Another, method became popular 300 years after Mohammad died. In this method 1-9 were assigned to alif-ya (I think I'm forgetting my arabic letters, LOL). 10-90 were assigned to different letters. 100-900, to others. If I can't explain this very well, go to the Abjad numerals wiki.

Anyway, the point is different numeric systems have come and gone. 786 is a weird way of taking Bismillah, going back to an arbitaty-antiquated numbering system, and coming up with a number. That's like me saying d=4 a =30 r=500 k= 1000 so 1534= Dark, the first part of my name, awesome! As you can see the values assigned to the numbers are random themselves. Arabs didn't even use this numeric system 1400 years ago, I should research and find out how they counted. Anyway, then the Indian-Hindu, which the Arabs stole (darn them 😀) numeric system came along and BAM! the 1234567, we have today!

I could be wrong, but this is whatI believe happend.

I believe they teach college level religion at some good high schools, but then again crappy universities can be the same as some good high schools.

Anyway, we should go back to podiatry. I won't post on Islamic Numerology or Religion anymore. I have to study physics

You have to study the MCAT.

I apologize if I killed this thread. Please continue discussing NYCPM 2013 Stats.
