What kind of MCAT and/or GPA is necessary usually to be rewarded with scholarship money at NYCPM? And how much is usually given?

I would guess a 3.0 gpa and/or 25+ mcat would make you competitive for a scholarship at NYCPM.

I do not know if you can bank on any type of correlation e.g. 3.1 = 4k 3.2 =8k. I THINK* it really depends on the applicant pool, the finances of the school, and when you are applying (winter vs summer). I used the 3.0 gpa, 25 mcat as a bench mark b/c I know a few that received scholarships with similar stats. However, please take this post with a grain of salt. I only know 4 people who applied to NYCPM.

They don't post specific requirements. It is based on academic standing and MCAT score, so the higher the GPA the more competitive you become for an academic scholarship. The scholarships are given each year and you must maintain a 3.2 GPA cumulative GPA at the end of each year to keep your scholarship for the following year. They also have many scholarship opportunities that you can apply for beginning in your 2nd year. Also for biochemistry, a scholarship is given to the student with the highest grade in the class at the end of the first semester.

I don't know about correlations either, but I have a 3.9 GPA and only a 20Q on the MCAT, and I received a $20,000 scholarship. I also believe that the highest is $40,000 so it's definitely based on the combination of both GPA and MCAT, if I had done better on the MCAT, I probably would have gotten more.

Here is another data point 2.9 GPA 31Q MCAT no scholarship

Perhaps gpa is more strongly considered? I have 3.3cGPA/33O and received $30K scholarship. Again not sure, just speculating.

NY was the only school that I applied to that didn't give me a scholarship, 3.0 GPA and 28 MCAT, my science was under 3.0 so that may be why.

Could someone tell me at what point do you know the officially exact amount of scholarship you are eligible for?
I want to apply to NYCPM but the money is an issue for me especially after taking loans for my undergrad.
Is it possible to check it before even the applying to school?
Also at what GPA do they particularly look? Is it the last 60 credits or maybe the science GPA?
Thanks.

You need to call the school. They will be much more knowledgeable and helpful.

3.3 gpa 25 MCAT, no scholarship offered. Primary reason why I chose to decline their acceptance offer.

Yep, 31Q, no dice. Given my 2.9 they probably weigh GPA more. No scholarship offered. If it was one of those 40K ones might have done it. Even though I was just not feeling it with the school
