I just found out that the three required letters of recommendation for NYMC have to be from professors I have taken classes with. Has anyone been able to get around this? I can get one letter from a professor I've taken a class with, but the other two are from professors that I've done extensive research with....

yea they gave me crap about that too. Said I couldn't use my bio advisor as a science rec. The only school that has gotten on my case about it. Haven't called them yet to see if they will just accept it. I have no patience to go around looking for another recommendation especially now that I'm already in grad school for something non-sicence related. Argggh! 😡

i got around it exactly by doing that - using a research prof.
i don't usually get units for research, but i did one semester, and it just showed up as 2 units for "undergrad bio research" - so i just called them up, explained to them that i got credit for research under that professor, and asked if they would be able to use that as a "professor who taught me" - and since i got units for it, they accepted it.
