Just got into the traditional track program, but they would like me to let them know whether I accept or not within the next 2 weeks. The thing is I am still waiting on hearing back from other schools and probably won't hear back until June (at the latest...). Is it possible to accept it and then withdraw if I get accepted into another program that I prefer more? If anything, I would loose some kind of deposit, right?

There is a lot of information on the accelerated program on here, but does anyone have any opinions of the traditional track or heard stuff about it?

Depending on how NYMC does financial aid, yes, you would only be losing your deposit if you decided to attend another school. If you're taking out loans, you'd only really be screwed if you had received your loan disbursement, but June would be obscenely early for that to occur, as most schools handle money at the start of the term (August, I'm assuming).

You also might just want to call up NYMC and explain your situation. They might grant you an extension if you ask nicely.

I didn't know that NYMC only gives you 2 weeks to make a decision....

May I ask how long did it take them to give you a decision after your interview?

Thanks. Yeah I'm not really sure how I am going to handle the financial situation just yet. Probably should get on top of that soon. But I decided to accept the decision anyways and so far I haven't had to put any money down.

Since you are talking about the interview, I'm assuming you are applying to the accelerated track. I applied to the traditional track - so I didn't have an interview and they gave me two weeks to decide...but I'm not sure if that is the same for the accelerated program.
