Temple
Pros
  • My heart is drawn toward, great staff, and by far the best interview day experience
  • Seems to have robust research, great community and students
  • Urban setting is a pro in my book

Cons
  • Seems to be in a relatively bad part of Philly, away from Family on Long Island
  • Seems to match slightly less well to NYC residencies

NYMC
Pros
  • Solid NYC matches in competitive residencies
  • Safe in suburbia
  • Close to family

Cons
  • Don't wanna live in bum**** nowhere
  • people seem stressed out and I didn't really like the vibes on MMI interview day

Summary: Both seem relatively similar, for me the goal is NYC residency in Ortho or Gen Surg, so looking for advice on where to go.

Probably Temple-- I've heard students usually live in Center City and you prioritize an urban campus anyway. Go where you think you'll be happier as a person !
