Hey PokerDoc,
I just looked up ineedhelp85's old posts and i think he interviewed in January. Is it just me or are they going in chronological order? It doesnt seem like anyone from feb/march on has gotten off of it yet.
 
Just got accepted. Which is kinda strange because I didn't even ask to be on the waitlist...but since I haven't gotten in anywhere else yet, I'm gonna hang on to this for a little... Got the email today around 1 pm eastern. Interviewed in early December.
 
looks like chronological order is the way they are reviewing waitlist apps...makes sense...so maybe in the next few weeks us march interviewees will get some love...

I hope Dec/Jan move quickly due to fewer interview dates (holidays). I just hope there is a spot for a nice young gentleman who interviewed on March 26.😀
 
Yeah hopefully this is true. I interviewed mid march but what if they fill before getting to me oh no!:scared:

acceptance batches have been handed out last 2 thursdays, hopefully trend continues which means we all gotta hope for more withdrawals.
 
Any news this week, think we'll hear anything tomorrow? Here's hoping we get some march interview waitlist movement soon!

I just called the Adm. Office and the automated message says they are closed for today.

Weird that they closed for half a day. Maybe its so they can go through all of the waitlist and give out a bunch of acceptances tomorrow. Probably not, but one can hope.

I know they have a day each summer where they acknowledge and thank the families of donors.
 
you guys are making me nervous...i interviewed 12/5 and got waitlisted at some point in feb. you think i'm done for?

I wouldn't worry, I haven't seen anyone say they have gotten off of it from February either. Heres hoping theres some good news for all of us soon.
 
What time do they send out acceptance emails....? It seems that they used to be really early in the AM (like 7-9ish EST) but last week (and maybe ever the week before) a couple of people said they got emails around 1ish EST. Totally messing with our minds haha.

I concur - I was told it's not chronological... it simply wouldn't make sense to do it that way. We should all keep in mind that SDN posts give us only a small slice of what's going on in the real world.
 
Good point guys. Guess we're all just trying to make sense of a process we have absolutely no control over. Be nice if NYMC gave some indication if we stood a chance or not. Ah! Limboland is driving me insane.:scared::scared::boom:

Change of subject, what are all you guys doing while we wait?

I'm taking neurobio and Shakespeare (great combo), writing my thesis, and starting a summer job. I feel bad for those of you without much to do right now.

going on a medical mission in mexico, rewriting PS and starting 2009 AMCAS if i don't get off this damn waitlist, going to europe (i really need this vacation)

Interviewed 4/17, WL 6/2, A 6/12

It is NOT chronological! I'm going HOME!!!

also, i withdrew from the waitlist last week. i know that's not as exciting as an acceptance withdrawal, but at least you guys will have one less person vying for your spot! :luck: everyone!

BTW: When did you complete your financial aid/lenders information for them?
 
wow---congrats dude. that is great. i hope they didn't send them out as a block email cause that means i wasn't accepted today... 🙁 still no email.

Do you guys think they're done accepting people who interviewed in October? Also I was waitlisted in December, I believe.

My parents received the waitlist notice last Friday and FedEx'd it to me from Florida (permanent address). On Monday, I FedEx'd the signed waitlist card along with a letter of intent and an update on my research (mentioning, of course, that I just won an award for it).

I really think the letter/FedEx response helped since it probably came in right around decision time. I did it, of course, to ensure that admissions got the card/letter in time for the next round of decisions. I'm sure there's still plenty of waitlist movement to go around. If I get into George Washington, then I'll open a spot for you guys.

Sounds good---thus far, I've been sending stuff ~1/month since I got waitlisted in February. All substantial updates...6 total abstract publications, grants, even a presentation at a national meeting. I've even hand-delivered a few letters. I want to go here so bad; I wish they'd let me in. :-/
 
FYI. I'm sure it does help to send a LOI etc. But in my case: I didn't send a thank you note, I didn't send a LOI, I didn't even send the waitlist card back. But I still got in!!! So I don't know if it really makes a difference. Good luck to you all. Hope to see you this summer!

As a wait list candidate, what are the steps you can take for financial aid at NYMC. So far all I have filled out is FAFSA. I called NYMC and they said I don't have to do any school-specific applications until/if I get accepted. Is that not the case...?😕
 
I really hope ppl on this thread get in, if its gonna make you guys feel better i withdrew my acceptance the next day i received it, which was last friday so one of the acceptees def took my spot today, i hope more ppl do the same so all you guys could get in!!
