Ok, as ironic as the title for this thread is, i have your attention now so hear me out🙂

In general, attending the cheapest dental school possible is the smartest move one could make. However, what if your goal after d-school was to practice strictly aesthetic dentistry? Would attending a school like NYU that has such a large alumni base, an aesthetic dentistry institute, and arguebly the most successful cosmetic dentists in the NYC area be a smart financial move (if aesthetics was your career goal)?

thoughts?? i'll add my 2 cents after we get the ball rollin..

jb!🙂

I would think so..NYU does offer a lot of opportunites to get trained in many cosmetic aspects of dentistry. Going somewhere that doesnt really offer it..you would have to do X amount of CE hours to become certified. All the aesthetic stuff is something thats leading me more towards NYU and away from UDM (although UDM is only 80 students as opposed to 330)...but I think its reasonable to assume its a good financial investment. I'll probably end up at NYU on the AF HPSP...wont be using it in the military..but it'd be nice to have that type of training once I get out.

I think it would absolutely be the right investment, if you knew you wanted to go into cosmetics. After looking into NYU, it is absolutely my #1 choice bc of all the emphasis on aesthetics. I know it has a ginormous price tag, but it is definitely the right choice for me.

Now all I need is to get an acceptance letter!🙂
