Hello NYU Class of 2009,
Well congratulations to all who have been selected to NYU. All of us have crossed one big hurdle and now it all comes to how we finance ourselves.
Let us all please share information about:
1. How to finance dentistry especially for international students?
a. What loan options are available?
b. Which is the best out of all the loans? Why?
c. Does School help in procuring a loan or we have to contact the banks and once the loan is approved the bank contact the school and get the info?
2. Visa???
a. Once we show proof of finances to the school, what are the next steps?
b. Can we get visa here in US or will we have to go out of country?
c. Miscellaneous???
Guys, my experience is that Citi Assist is the only viable option and they give a good interest rate to NYU student as they have some special arrangement with the school. I am not too sure about other loans, checked with a couple of institutions but they are not ready to lend if you dont have a GreenCard or Citizenship or otherwise the interest rates are high.
Let us all please share as much information as we can as this is one major (minor if you consider the efforts we have put in to get up to this place) hurdle all of us will have to cross before we can get there.
