Hey all,

I wanted to ask (esp the sophomores and upperclassmen) what the schedule is like the first week of classes? They don't give us our schedule until orientation (Aug 23rd) but I heard the first week is just for some minor computer class.

The reason I ask is because I was planning to go to some conference labor day weekend and wanted to leave on Friday. Do you guys remember around what time the class ended last year...or even if I can miss it (if it's not that important)? Thanks,

- Farooq

sorry bud. You can't miss

Your first class only lasts a week and its a group project you will present in the front of the class. Unless you get some really forgiving group members....you better not miss. If you fail this class you are pretty much a ******

hey, was wondering if you could elaborate on the schedule during orientation week and also the class schedule for the first year. What should we expect during orientation and should we purchase the lap top at that time or before hand. For the school year, are classes generally 8-5 or are there breaks or days you get out earlier?
thanks for your help!

Hi..
Just thought I would reply to this message and meet some people who will be starting their first year at NYUCD as well. I'm pretty excited about moving to NY! But it just seems as if there a lot of ?s about what's going to take place during orientation, how the first year curriculum will be set up, getting use to the vitalbook, tips/suggestions for 1st year students, etc. (the typical freshman concerns! =) i've tried to find relevant info for 1st year students on the website but couldn't find much.

i wish the could send out info in the mail ..before starting orientation..just to get a heads up on certain things that might boggle our minds...

well, if there's anyone who's going to be a first year at NYUCD ...it would be kewl to get/stay in touch..
!

Hey now,

Welcome '08 to NYUCD and congrats hope you enjoyed your long and probably boring day today. If you have any questions (not regarding the dorms🙂 feel free to ask away.

Just give me a PM over the next week.

Ahahaha hey guys, this time around I'm asking about the 2nd year schedule. For the same reason. 🙂

Anyone know the exact date D2 classes start? I checked on Albert and got bupkis. Thanks,

NYU will send your schedule to you in the mail.....probably soon, in two weeks or so. I think the schedule for second year is basically lab 4 times a week and not that many hours of classes per day. Friday you have classes from 9-5. I would have classes from 12-3. My schedule on most days was 12-3 and then lecture 3-5, not bad at all.

hey, I'm in the same boat as you, catching a flight out on Fridays. I've spoken with the gal that teaches the computer class, she said we're done at noon-ish on Friday, but it's not skippable unless you're willing to eat a F.
