NYU: How are the Waterside Apartments?

Hello NYU students! Can anyone tell me about living at the Waterside apartments? It's on my list of possible places to live in the future and I was wondering if anyone could offer their completely candid opinions on it. Specifically:

1. How safe do you feel walking to and from Waterside? In particular, how safe do you feel walking across that bridge at night?
2. Why did you decide to live at Waterside? Why not Stuy Town, Kip's Bay, or any one of the buildings closer to the school?
3. What are the benefits of living at Waterside?
4. What DON'T you like about living at Waterside?

i chose waterside with my roomies...2 bedroom converted to 3 with still plenty of living room space.

they only want a 3 month deposit and not a whole year deposit...no need for a gaurantor.

it is plenty safe...the bridge has a gaurd there...safety is not an issue.

benefits of living at waterside...are other dental students live here, gym in the complex, very close to school, very close to library, overlook the east river...people visit and oohhh and awww about it the place. much cleaner and nicer than any other place you will find for comparable price.

only downfall...it would be nice to be in central manhattan...with action going on all around you, but its quiet at night so i guess better to study.

4. What DON'T you like about living at Waterside?
security?? yeah they got some intense security.. dont have to worry abou that one:

one of the security guards that i talked to last nite act like he own the place.. i used my roomate's "access card" to get in.. and he threatened to call the police...saying that is considered trespassing!! sometimes i wonder if i paid the rent! the head guy with a badge 🙂)) came down and got it all straightened out.. i was like.. am i free to go??

honest, honest truth... go stuy or kips bay.. its alot better. im jsut lazy to move out.

waterside LOOKS good but thats it.. it sucks😉
