I have an interview at NYU this Monday Nov. 5th and I sent them an email concerning it and I got an automated email back stating this:

Hello,

Thank you for your interest in NYU College of Dentistry. You have
reached the Office of Student Admissions.

Please be advised that due to the effects of Hurricane Sandy the
College of Dentistry is expected to be closed until Monday, Nov. 5.

We will respond to your message as soon as electricity is restored and
we can return to the office.

If you would like to monitor our progress, please go to the College of
Dentistry "InfoAlert" web site for updates at:
http://www.nyu.edu/dental/infoalert/ .

Thank you for your patience in this matter.

Sincerely,

The Admissions Office

So, I'm not sure if they are closed Monday or not. That wording is ambiguous...

When I was looking on the website where they were posting updates, they said it was expected to be open. But they might have meant clinics? Then again, if the power is still out, they won't be able to do that either. Does anyone know if that area is still under water? Did the school take on any damage?

NYU isn't flooded, they just don't have power.

? the tires of cars are submerged underwater. That's flooded.

To the OP: I emailed them and they said if anything changes, they will contact you.

Are you talking about the dental school or Langone?

My interview was scheduled for tomorrow but my flight got cancelled and the school's not even gonna be open anyways. When I emailed them on Tuesday, I got a response saying that I would be able to reschedule if I wouldn't be able to make it or if they were closed.

Guess I'll know more on Monday.

So does this mean that nyu interviews from last Monday till next Monday were all cancelled? Wow, hat is 70+ interviews that will be rescheduled for much later dates, sux

I heard NYU was flooded, but i dont kno if its the dental school building or the undergraduate buildings. I have an interview on Nov. 13, so I hope I can get into Manhattan by then from Jersey

Anyone know what the status is with the admissions office? Tried calling and kept getting a busy signal or the voicemail.

Dear Interview Candidates,

On behalf of the New York University College of Dentistry Office of Admissions, I am writing to confirm that interviews for the 4-year DDS program will resume on Monday, Nov. 5. Please come at your appointed time.

We apologize that our Office has only been intermittently in contact with you this past week, due to the effects of Hurricane Sandy. Please rest assured that the school will reopen on Monday, Nov. 5 and normal operations are expected to resume then.

If you find you are unable to travel to New York City for your interview on Nov. 5, please email us to reschedule your interview for a future date.

Thank you for your patience. We hope you and your families were able to remain safe during this challenging time.

All the best,

Helen Dowler

Thanks for letting us know! My interview on Wednesday is on then. Now, I only need to figure a way to get to manhattan without gas in my car or trains that drop you off near nyu (they told me I would have to stand and walk 18 blocks in a dress suit and heels and a northeastern is going to hit LoL. Fun
