Your GPA is a strong point, it'll earn an invite to the interviews. But be prepared to explain why u got less scores in spite of an excellent GPA

Hi NYU applicants..

My friend has following stats and is considering whether to apply to NYU or not

part 1 80
GPA 3.3
Toefl 112
US masters degree from top 10 university with good GPA
US Research fellowship in surgery
US letters of recommendation

only issue is low part 1 score.. though retaking the exam next month.

Any inputs????

I have already paid to caapid for BU and NYU,I am confused whether to pay 100 for Bu or not as Igot appliaction receipt mail from BU before my toefl scores..From yesterday I am quite depressed,I saw dates to retake exam and its only on jan 16,which will be too late for BU,What should I do? shallI gamble 100 dollars as I already paid 68 for BU in caapid and I already send Nbde 1 score reports and toefl also
Plizz suggest
I am feeling really miserable

Go ahead with fees and hope you get your interview sooner or later. On the other side, look for TOEFL centers in other citites than yours. Retake TOEFL as soon as possible and update your score on CAAPID, to get an interview there - you don't need to submit TOEFL scores at present and most likely, interviews till January 21 are organized, so you will be getting your interview date later than January 21. Don't worry, there's still time. Patience is the key!!!

Hi all,
Do any of you know when NYU is going to call us for interview.

Last year the application deadline was Feb 5th I guess but they called by mid December to start the interview process by Jan 13th.
 
THE BEST THING IS TO CALL NYU - international admission office DIRECTLY for any query you have. You get the latest and most updated information that way. Sorry, don't have no information on NYU school.
 
hey does any one know what is the minimum toefl score nyu is looking in for admision in advanced standing program.

I am sorry for taking time to reply. A pointed by our friend mission isp, go ahead and pay the fee and complete the application process. if your part1 and other things are good you will get a call inspite of a low toefl score, last year one of my friend whose toefl score was low was interviewed and was given ample time to improve her toefl scores and finally joined the program. Take the exam as soon as possible and update your result on caapid, bu is very considerate with the original. Even if you cannot send them the original before the interview they are fine, they give you time to do it. you are safe anyway, just relax and do your best. good luck.

hi the minimum score is 90 and i believe they are very serious about that in considering the application

I finished my caapid application on 23rd nov and posted cheque and documents to nuy yesterday.I am confused whether we should send official ece to nyu.I didnot get application recieved mail from nyu also.My toefl results came on dec 1st so I posted other documents yesterday

I send
1,notorized diploma
2,notorized marksheets
3 2by 2 photo
4, cheque of 100
5,official nbde1
6.told ets to send official score to nyu

and do we need to send

hello everybody. i have confused about how to send NBDE score to NYU, I have an official score report in a sealed envelope. Is that fine if i will send it with my document all together in one package?? or i must order another one. ?? thanks
 
<THE BEST WAY TO SOLVE YOUR DOUBTS is to KNOW THE SYSTEM WELL>

that can be done only when you call 'THE INTERNATIONAL ADMISSION OFFICE OF NYU/any other school' in person to talk with the most appropriate person/authority there. This way, you will get the latest and the most updated information about the school system. SDNers are the second best option for any discussion/opinion. No offence but Sometimes misleading stuff may harm your dreams in future. Don't rely 100% on third party unless someone is so sure and confident for the share of information.

So, always talk/call in person to the system directly to get 100% correct information.

@ last after waiting for long my check has been cashed today... don't know when application complete e-mail is going to be sent. I had requested ADA to send my official score report directly to NYU last week. They are not accepting official score reports from the applicants which I had sent. I called them and they informed that they need the NBDE score directly from ADA. Hope this helps.

Dear Maiya,
my guess is we submit our ece original to caapid and they send it to the schools and we need to send official nbde and toefl to the schools. For more information you can call them up.

i have sent following documents to NYU
  1. A notarized copy of official dental school transcript with marks stated /mark sheets
  2. A notarized copy of official dental degree certificate
  3. Application fee of $100
  4. A 2x2 photograph.
i requested ETS, JCNDE to send toefl & nbde scores to nyu...NYU may accept nbde scores in sealed envelopes, u have to call & confirm ..

You should submit ECE course by course report , recommendation letters to CAAPID...

I mailed my documents to NYU on 12th nov and got an application complete mail by end of nov. NYU got my check cashed today. I think they r going to begin the interview process after the deadline this year.

yes official ECE is required or if not from them directly then sealed envelope will also work
You need the ADA to send your NBDE score rerort as they donot accept even sealed ones.It happened with me i send them sealed score report but they told me that only sent by ADA is official
Toefl sore report by ETS.

If NYU mentioned of a original ece and if you have a sealed copy from ece you can send them one now. The best thing you could do now is send them a sealed official copy if you have one or request ece to send it to them if you dont have one. It might cost you a few dollars but saves you a lot of time spend in thinking

hiii everyone.....do the reapplicants need to send secondary application along with all the documents again to NYU??? I have applied to NYU through CAAPID for 2010 intake and before I had applied for 2009 intake in january...... so can anyone please help wt do we need to send for the reapplicants?

Dear Maiya
About ECE- U need to send the official ece report to CAAPID. they will frwd that with ur application to ur designated university programs. I am worried that caapid ppl will mention in ur application that u sent them photocopy of ECE and then NYU will cntct u for official report.In this process u might lose time and ur status in NYU maybe will be incomplete application. I am not trying to frighten u , jst giving u the scenerio. u need to act smart bfr u lose time. ECE ppl are very fast. all u have to do is fill their form online and they have courier service which will cost u lill more but ur work will be done on time.
OR other option is call NYU and ask them that photocopy of ECE frwded by CAAPID will be considered or not.

please can you guys tell me,how long NYU PROPLE WILL TAKE TO MAIL u after they get your caapid application.I have applied to nyu by caapid on 19th,heard nothing from them,I got mail form BU after thanks giving.I posted my check to nyu only on 4thdec.So any idea when can I expect my mail from them in this scenario.I am tensed as deadline is approaching and christmas and new year in between.I called NYU and they told me you will get mail.Don;t know when that mail will come.

all the best 4 interviews,I called NYU abt ECE today and they told me to ask caapid,can you tell me U submitted official ECE or copy of ECE and did yoy recieve application recieved mail.I applied on 19th nov,have not heard a songle word from them,OR it is like that they will contact you aftet they recieve your application fee,
I am tensed,
as NYU is th only hope for me
and am not hearing anything form them

dear maiya, u should check 2 things in CAAPID website...
1)in "my application status" u can see a "program designation" column ..u will be able to find when did caapid send ur documents to nyu ...or u can call caapid in this no. 617-612-2035 & ask them ..
2) u can check the status of ur transcript too

i sent original ece to caapid..if u r really worried u can send an original one to nyu..
nyu won't send an application received mail..
i think they will process the application only after receiving the fee

I called NYU and I was told that the admission committee hasn't decided on the interview dates and they said IV might be conducted in late Jan. I didn't get a proper reply for any of my qs...I thought they will start sending out the interview mails at least by Dec end.......It is going to be a longggggg wait.. All the best guys! please do share any info regarding NYU interview..
