Got a letter for interview from NYU today.
I was interviewed last year and was waitlisted.
I will not be going as I got BU admission a few days ago.
I am surprised they called again. I had improved my part 1 from 87 to 92.
I remember last year they admitted waitlisted people from the year before without interviewing.

That is strange, when I was in the admissions office a couple days ago they told me they would not reinterview waitlist candidates....great now I gotta worry about getting an interview letter again and going thru that whole process... 🙁 let the stress begin!!

I am not clear on whether you received good news or not. Others are congratulating you, but my impression was that you got a rejection letter. Are you a re-applicant who received an acceptance letter stating that you don't need to be interviewed since they already know you? Please clarify, and state your stats if you don't mind.

Since I am in Canada, I am wondering whether any of you who have received letters are also from Canada. Will they be sending us letters by regular mail too?

It's extremely rare for them to take anybody below a 3.0, i've never heard of any applicant personally who got in with that low of a gpa...

For more reference, I know someone last year who had a 89 and a 2.7 an did not even recieve an interview call.

My friend with gpa of 2.45 & NBDE 1 86 got in nyu but almost two years ago ,when even people with 80 could get in .Today things are diffirent.

No news from my side dude, they told me just a couple days ago that waitlisters would not be reinterviewed...i guess they changed their policy?...**** now i'm waiting for another interview call...mant this process blows!

I asked the admissions office today at NYU whether or not waitlist candidates from last year would need to be reinterviewd and I was told that NOT ALL waitlisters would need to be re interviewed only some of them and it was on a case by case basis....now what the basis is ...god knows...but she said that not all waitlsters would have to be interviewed again.

One of my friends got a call letter, but he is a re-applicant and he has already been accepted elsewhere, so he is not going. From what I can tell, they are only sending letters out to re-applicants first.

Congrats Sunita, but I am guessing you will be declining since you have already been accepted at UPenn/Boston. Assuming you are not going to go, please let them know asap so they can cross you off their list and send out letters to others waiting. Actually this request is for anyone receiving a letter from NYU and who are not interested in going to the interview.

did any one hear anything from nyu? so far only one new applicant posted that she received a letter!!! when i called nyu they mentioned that they sent out bunch of letters a week ago!!! but only one new applicant posted so far!!! may be they r mailing letters mostly to non-indians cause most of the students from india do post or at least view this site,
