i just received a letter from nyu stating that they were reviewing my application...and it also stated that it may not be necessary to interview depending on our qualifications?

has anyone in the past applied to nyu, but was accepted without interview? under what conditions can we be accepted without interviews?

and if we are accepted without interview, do they just wait until dec 1 to notify us? or will they send us another letter earlier stating that we won't need to be interviewed (as in acceptance without interview)? how does it work? anyone know?

I think Mitch-SER was accepted without an interview..perhaps you might want to send him some q's..see if he's willing to help out. I dont think you need a crazy high GPA..but yes it does happen at NYU to be accepted w/o an interview.

so those who are accepted w/o interviews, they have to wait until dec 1 to know? then won't it seem like they're even getting rejected since they didn't get an interview for all this time in between? or do they notify us when they WOULD have sent out an interview invite and tell us instead that we're accepted w/o a need for interview?

is there anyone who had a high gpa and high dat scores, but nyu still required an interview?

By mutual agreement, no school can accept students before DEC 1. However, I have seen postings of rejections earlier than DEC 1.

At least one or two posters last year claimed to have been accepted at NYU without an interview. I do not believe they were accepted or given any indication prior to 1DEC.

Maybe one of them will post again with the full scoop...

Maybe NYU calls you and tells you are eligible to be considered without an interview and asks you if you would like to be considered without an interview. This way they dont have to tell before Dec 1.
