NYU - just offered an interview

I applied early last year to 5 schools, I had several interviews and am on the wait list at 2. At the end of December I decided to add my application to NYU as sort of a last minute add on fearing I might not get in to one of my original schools. I knew my application was late and pretty much gave up on NYU, but I just got an email offering a chance to interview. Its the middle of May. Would I just be interviewing for a waitlist spot or do they actually still have spaces open?

For you NYU people, did that person from last cycle that was freaking out about withdrawing other SDNers acceptances ever get in? That thread was the thread to end all threads

definitely go.

NYU is one of those schools that probably hand out 3x as many acceptances as spots because so many choose to go elsewhere because of the price of the school and the size of the class.

i'll apply there, but will only go if it's the only school i go. i'm sure a lot of people feel the same way... so i imagine they have a very fast moving alternate list.

i would definitely go especially if you haven't gotten in anywhere as of yet. speaking of late interviews, i interviewed with nyu 2 years ago at the end of june. i believe they accept applicants all the way up to the start of classes. well.....nyu is still giving out interviews...good sign.

GOOO! I was waitlisted for 3 schools and waiting on USC. Got an interview for NYU last Friday and had no hope of getting but I got an email the following Monday and was accepted. One other person had the same thing happen who was in my group! You have a chance and the interview is not hard. Just be enthusiasic and genuine. Goodluck.
